A young girl born with serious heart problems continues to do well, according to her mother, Heather McCabe.
My little daughter grows more beautiful each and every day. She is now nearly a year old, and she continues to defy all the odds placed upon her by doctors.
Doctors predicted that my little angel wouldn't survive a day shortly after her birth: she was born with a very rare (and lethal) heart defect that threatened to take her very life; but somehow, through many heartfelt prayers from family and friends and my church, my daughter is doing splendidly. She continues to have monthly checkups, and although she has to be on special heart medication for the rest of her life (such as when she is ill or prior to any surgery she may face), she is otherwise doing well.
My daughter is now learning to talk, and she is cruising; it is hard to keep up with her, and it seems that she never stops laughing. She is such a happy little girl with a winning smile, and people just have fallen in love with her lively, exhuberant spirit and lively personality. She is such a little charmer with her blonde curls, and she is the apple of my eye.
I will continue to update on her as time permits; but I just wanted to say it's been a while; and I wanted to let you know just how well my daughter is doing.
This is a great uplifting write and as Karla said one of your shortest. But length doesn't always have to be maintained in order to write a nice story as is this one..

I am glad to read this my neice was born prematurely and had heart problems that was corrected she has three children and is doing well despite having problems of the heart in a different way. Her husband left her in November of 2001 but she is much better off without the jerk.
