Dear Amanda Kelsea~
Hi! You don't know me, but I know a little about you. I read an article in our local paper about you; the article said that you are almost thirteen years old and are in middle school, in the 7th grade. It also said that you have cerebral palsy, and even though you can't do a lot of physical things, you are very smart, and that you love school, among other things. When I read the article, I thought, "She sounds like a nice little girl; I would like to write to her!", so here I am!
To tell you a little about myself, Amanda, my name is Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, and I live in Nashville, Tennessee. I am just a little bit younger than you: I won't be thirteen until December. I just turned 12 this past Christmas Day; Christmas Day is not only a holiday: it also happens to be my birthday! I have a mother and father, and I have many brothers and sisters. There are *50* kids in my family, and we may be adopting two more kids into the family, a little baby boy and a girl, aged five, from Sri Lanka! We also have lots of pets, including a brand new goat, which we got just last week. Myself, I have a cat, her name is "Cajun", and she is a very pretty Maine Coon.
I have long, black hair and black eyes, and I have dark skin. I am short and skinny for my age, and I have been told that I am very pretty. I also have a physical disability that is very easily seen, but I still do quite well despite it. I have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), and I can't walk without the help of braces on my legs and forearm crutches; on my "bad pain days", I use my wheelchair. But I mostly use my crutches, and I get along very well. I also have allergies and asthma, but I am happy to tell you that as I get older, I don't seem to be having nearly as much trouble with my breathing as I did when I was younger. It has been a while since I have had to go to the hospital on account of my breathing.
I also love to do a lot of things including singing, performing, playing music (I love all kinds of music, but my favorite would have to be country--especially Loretta Lynn! She is my very favorite performer of all!--), and reading. I also love to travel, going to concerts, meeting my favorite stars in person, collecting autographs, writing (I wrote a book about myself last year; I would love to do another one!!), playing on the computer, collecting stamps and pictures, and drawing. What do you like to do, Amanda?
I also love to go to church. I go to Christ Community Assembly of God. I am a Christian; have been one for five years now, since the age of seven, which was when I first gave my life to Christ; and I haven't been a BIT sorry for doing so! Christ has been so good to me, and He has blessed me beyond measure! I love telling other people about Jesus and what He has done for me!
