Dear Sikik~
Thank you so much for writing your most enjoyable letter; it is so nice to hear from you again! But me thinks I'll passe' on the cold temps of Barrow! LOL That is a little TOO cold for me to handle! I loved the picture of the Inuk girl you put on your letter; but I have a question to ask: is that a picture of you? If so, that is a very pretty picture!
In only five more days, I have my surgery, which means that I will be going into the hospital on Monday, the 21st. I'll then have my surgery on Wednesday, the 23rd, and I will be in the hospital for about a week or so (barring complications). I am a little scared, but I have already put it all at the Foot of the Cross, and I know that my Saviour will take care of me and watch over me as I am "under the knife", having my surgery. Still, I appreciate your prayers; that is so nice of you! Thanks!
Also, Ronee' leaves for Hollywood on the 25th, two days after I have my surgery; she is going to Hollywood to tape her portion on the television show, "America's Most Talented Kids". She is very excited about her chance at a shot for stardom, and she is looking forward to performing in front of cameras and a live audience. I know she will do well; she has decided on doing "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson (she won the first "American Idol" competition). I hope and pray she wins; but even if she doesn't win, it is still a big honor for Ronee' just to BE there! And she may open the door for people with disabilities; I just hope they don't give her lower scores because she is on forearm crutches and leg braces! That would be outright MEAN! I will have to watch the show when it airs sometime this summer! If you see it, please let me know just how she does; I may not be in any shape to watch it! I know I will be hurtin' for certain!! *OW* LOL
I also have some news about Johnny that you may be interested in. I have given it a lot of thought (your inviting him to come to Alaska), but it will have to be AFTER I am home from the hospital and am feeling better. Johnny WILL be allowed to spend time with you; he really wants to go, and I can't let him down! He's been disappointed far too many times in his young life, and he really wants to go back to Alaska ever since he went there last year on the cruise; and he would love to stay with you! That is so nice of you to want to have him come up there; as long as I know he is with you, I know he is in competant and capable hands! You took excellent care of your mother, and you are taking excellent care of your father; I KNOW Johnny will be no problem with you! Besides, I am also sending Barbara, his older sister, to come and help you. Barbara knows all abut what medications to give him at what time, and she knows about how to operate his oxygen equipment and knows what to do in the event that he should have a seizure; so you shouldn't worry. So you will have TWO people to stay with you besides just the one: Johnny and his older sister, Barbara, who will be sixteen in mid March!
You will love Barbara: she is more outgoing than her brother, and she is as able bodied as you are: the only health problem she has is chronic sinusitis; she is prone to sinus infections, but she has medications for that, and besides, if she should happen to get sick while she is up there, I know you can find a good, reliable pediatrician to take care of her! Same with Johnny! I am sending you a copy of their medical records, so you can give them to the doctor, lest they should happen to get sick (heaven forbid!). She is blonde, like Johnny, but she has very dark eyes, and she is quite athletic. She is very strong, physically, and she will be a great help to you (and to Johnny)!
Sikik, to load pictures on the computer, I go to "google.com", and I then type in what I am looking for a picture of (say, for example, "special-needs kids" or "kids with special needs"), and they will show pictures after you state that you want images. Now, not all are of what I am looking for--they will have pictures of dogs, cats, or things that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic I am looking for--, but that is okay; chances are you will find something. After you find a particular picture that appeals to you, you then take your mouse, click the right hand side, and find the word "Save". You then hit "Save", and the picture is in your "file". You then go back to where you were originally, and then, to load the picture, you do "Browse", find the picture you wanted, and then hit "Open" (so you can see your file of pictures), and then the picture should appear on your paper. It isn't really that hard to do; but for some people it is very confusing to learn. I hope this helps! Now, a word to the wise: to have a picture, you can only use those that are in the JPG or GPG format. If it says "Bittmap", you can't use it unless you have a Bittmap folder or know how to do the Bittmap formatting. It is harder to do than JPG or GPG, and there is more involved. Therefore, I stick with the former. You also have to watch your "Pixels". If a picture is say, 400 pixels or higher, chances are it will be quite large, and if you aren't careful, it may cover part of your letter or story or whatever it is that you are working on, and then you have to go and remove it and find something smaller. I know this all sounds like Greek to you, but I am trying my utmost best to explain it in as simple of details as I possibly can! I hope this has helped you! If you still don't understand, you can have Mattaq do the picture loading for you! He has done a good job so far!
I would love some tapes of Inuit music and singing. That would be interesting! I love Native American music anyway, so I would probably enjoy the Inuit stuff! Thanks!
Well, sweet Sikik, I have to run (HA! Can you see that?? Me on crutches RUNNING?? LOL That would be a sight now, wouldn't it??
