Dear Anna Grace:
Sorry if I didn't continue my letter yesterday, but our mother is home from the hospital, and she needs a lot of help right now until she is back on her feet. So if I don't write much in here, now you know why. I was so happy to see her; she looked a little pale, but she said that she was feeling a lot better, and she was happy to be back. So was her little Pomeranian dog, "Cajun Gold": "Cajun Gold" was so excited at seeing her "human mommy" that she pee'd on her foot, and she was dancing around on her hind legs, just barking excitedly. She looked so cute!! My kitty, "Cajun", my Maine Coon, was happy to see maman back too: she was winding herself around the legs of her walker, just purring like a little well-oiled machine! She wouldn't leave her be until I went over and picked her right up into my arms and took her to my room, where I then closed the door. It wasn't long before you could hear "Cajun" meowing her head off! LOL For a cat weighing 8 1/2 pounds, she sure has a big-time meow! And her purrs could shake the roof! (NOT really, but she DOES have one of the loudest purrs I have ever heard on a cat! LOL)
Maman, as you know, had serious back surgery; and she is now wearing a back brace until her back heals, and she also has to use a walker until her back heals some more and she feels stronger. She may eventually walk without ANY assistance whatsoever, but she also may just need her cane, like she used before she lost it in Sri Lanka. She will just have to get a new cane is all; right now, her walking is pretty limited at best, but she is happy just to be home! Frankly, so are WE! :) We have really missed her like CRAZY!!
The weather is still cold here in Nashville; but the snows seemed to have ended; all we have now are little flurries. We will probably stay in today for recess, which is fine with me: I am hurting today; my wrists and fingers are killing me, as are my hips and my feet. *OW* But at least I am not flaring; I haven't had a flare in quite a long while, which is just fine with ME. I also haven't had a major asthmatic attack in I don't know how long; it's been a while. That is fine with me too; there's nothing worse than gasping for air or not being able to breathe! Talk about SCARY feelings! YIPES! :( How is the weather over there in Soulsbysville? Is it rainy there today, or is it sunny? (I hope it is the latter, myself!)
You ought to see my friend Nicole's new cat: she got a Norwegian Forest Cat (they look a lot like Maine Coons--they are about as large--, but they have more oval-shaped eyes, and their faces aren't as square as a Maine Coon's, and their noses are longer, too. They are really pretty cats! Anyway, Nicole named her "Wegie" cat "Olaf The Terrible", which made me laugh because there is absolutely NOTHING "terrible" about "Olaf" AT all! She got her cat last week, while I was in Cali, and he is just getting used to being with Nicole and her mother--not to mention her dog, "Buster"! "Olaf", as you may have guessed, is a boy cat. And he is HUGE; he is way bigger than MY Maine Coon!
I still enjoyed seeing y'all last week; you are really getting tall! And you are getting prettier, too! It's just too bad I had to leave right before Hopie came; I would have loved to have met her! I bet she is a cute one! I am so happy for you, and to think that your maman may adopt more kids someday! She has an awfully big heart, and I am glad to know her--and the rest of you guys! You guys remind me of my own family in a lot of ways, only ours is a lot bigger, and there are boys as well as girls in my family while there are only girls in yours. I hope your mother adopts some boys; there are a lot of boys who need a home and a family, too! My maman and daddy are in the process of adopting a baby boy (Arjun) and a five-year-old girl (Rani Kapala) from Sri Lanka, and I hope they get the kids; that'd be too cool to get two new kids into our family! Especially little ones; the youngest in my family are now five and six, and there are no more tots or babies to be had. So maybe a new baby in our family would be a nice thing, really!
Whoops! I gotta' run; I am going to go to lunch. The lunch bell just rang, and I have to get into line if I want a good table to sit at or get the food when it is fresh and piping-hot! There's nothing worse than cold meatloaf or potatoes or peas; NASTY!! UCH!! I will write more next time; until later, Anna Grace, take care, and God bless you mightily! Do write soon; I love hearing from you or any of your sisters!
Love and miss you all already!
(((HUGS))) As always, your Tennessee pal, Ronee' Le-Anne. :)
Thnx sis and the picture of the kitty made me smile. You know what's bad tho? I have to rely on dreams and made up images of the stories I write, because even though I have a family (my sisters are still alive), I have never had a family. Someone told me one time that I should put it all down on paper and tell the world just what parental abuse can do to a child who never did anything wrong. But your Ronne' stories, in letter form, make me smile, it is so endearing to have friends, no matter how many miles are between them. Ronee' is like my character in my serial Chrissie, cause they both care a lot about their friends, and everyone else around them. Too bad it is only make believe. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love, peace, & (((HUGS))) ... Barbie
Now, Karen, is this part of one of the letter-style novels of the type written in the 1800s? You have the knack for it. Great ear. It's interesting and draws the reader in. You're right. I liked the pic and recognized it as a Maine Coon right away. :-) Write and tell me more what you're doing with this story. I'll have to track you to keep up.
