Follow the continuing misfortunes of Studio Reader Stan.
Studio Reader Stan picks up a phone in his apartment.

Studio Reader Stan: Hello.

Studio Reader Stan’s Mother: Studio Reader Stan, it’s your mother.

Studio Reader Stan: Mom, I prefer Larry. Y'know, the name you actually gave me. Studio Reader Stan's a stupid nickname. I hate it...And it’s Script Analyst.

Studio Reader Stan’s Mother: Whatever. Anyway, I’ve got a great movie idea for ya'.

Studio Reader Stan: It's not that one about the lonely candle and his torturous trek across the Sahara Desert, is it?

Studio Reader Stan's Mother: No, I've decided that would work better as a video game.

Studio Reader Stan: Mom, I really don't enjoy hearing other people's story ideas. It's what I deal with all day long. When I'm done, I'd rather not have anything to do with it.

Studio Reader Stan's Mother: That's because all those scripts you read are crap. Probably from punks just out of college who haven't lived long enough to have a decent opinion on anything. I'm a lady who's lived. I bring valuable life experience to my ideas.

Studio Reader Stan: Does this mean you're still going to tell me it?

Studio Reader Stan's Mother: Check this out -- a grizzled, down-on-his luck caveman becomes best friends with a snow storm. It’ll revolutionize the buddy picture. It's brilliant.

Studio Reader Stan: Mom, that doesn’t even make sense.

Studio Reader Stan’s Mother: What do you mean it doesn't make sense? It makes perfect sense. Man, nature, friendship, a car chase. Those are the cornerstones of a blockbuster. How soon can you start working on it?

Studio Reader Stan: Mom, I'm not going to work on that. I have my own projects.

Studio Reader Stan's Mother: Son, I can't help you if you won't let me. It’s why you’re still just a studio reader. You don’t see the big picture.

Studio Reader Stan: Mom, I'm begging you, can we please have a non-Hollywood conversation?

Studio Reader Stan’s Mother: I would, but I have a call on line four.

Studio Reader Stan: You only have one phone line.

Studio Reader Stan’s Mother hangs up.
