I wrote this one for the same online game (Legend Arena). It won our story contest. Unfortunately I had to cut stuff out of it to make the 600 word max...but it's still a fun little story
I had been patiently waiting for the right moment all day. Then it came.
“I hate all this waiting.” The bearded one said.
“I know what you mean. We work our tails off getting enough War Points to get a bonus and then our Warlord takes his time giving it to us.” The other said.
“Well there’s nothing we can do about it.” The bearded one said.
“Not true .” The other said with a wicked grin on his face.
“Mutiny?” The bearded one said a little loud.
“Shhh, keep your damn voice down.” The other said. “Consider it a coup. We’re tired of waiting for our warlord to hand out the bonuses. You just said you were tired of waiting.”
“Yeah I am but to go against him?” The bearded one said.
“Either you’re with us or against us. What’s it gunna be? Death by my sword or with us?” the other said as his hand moved to his sword hilt.
I watched the nervous shiver go up his spine and saw him flinch when the other one went for his sword.
“I’m with you.” The bearded one stammered out.
“Good because it’s going down in 5 minutes.” The other said as he walked away.
I could hear the bearded one mumbling about how it was crazy to go against your Warlord. I carefully took out my potions and silently drank them. I then prayed to the holy Spiritus Sanctus. I felt the extra power as my prayers for a victorious battle were answered. I slowly and silently drew my Sword of Light. I crept forward to get as close to him as I could. In a flash I sprang. I covered his mouth and sank my sword deep into his lung while dragging him into the woods. He never even got the chance to think about screaming.
I crept back out of the woods and as I got closer to the tents I could hear the other one telling them to get ready. I prayed to the holy Spiritus Sanctus but this time for the wisdom to formulate a plan of attack.
My prayers were answered quickly and I immediately put the plan into action. I crept to the side of the tent and cut one of the support ropes for the tent. The side fell in and everyone inside started to shout. I quickly thanked the holy Spiritus Sanctus and thrust my sword deep into the body of the closest one. I continued to kill them until there was no movement left inside the tent. I grabbed my flint and set fire to the tent. And then I waited. I crept back into the woods.
The smoke made their Warlord come running to see what happened. He was screaming for his soldiers but none of them answered. I waited for him to turn his back to me and sprung.
My sword found its mark and he slumped to the ground, dead.
I took anything of value and thanked the holy Spiritus Sanctus for the wisdom and strength she had provided to me.
I got back to our camp and showed my spoils to the rest of the clan. I told them of my victory and was awarded with an Individual Bonus.
“Thank you mighty Warlord Prudh.” I said as I accepted my bonus. “I will wait to use it though.” I said with a wicked smile.
At the celebration feast I told my adventure to my Clan Mates.
