This week, Studio Reader Stan revisits his psychiatrist, in search of answers.
Studio Reader Stan is in the middle of a session with his Psychiatrist,
Dr. Melrose.
Studio Reader Stan: As you can tell, I’m really frustrated this week, doc. It just seems like no one follows their instincts in this town. Unqualified people tell them to try the craziest things and they do them.
Studio Reader Stan notices that
Dr. Melrose isn’t blinking.
Studio Reader Stan: Is it my imagination, or have you not blinked for the last five minutes?
Dr. Melrose: My new acting coach told me not to blink during close ups.
Studio Reader Stan: But there’s no camera on you now.
Dr. Melrose: My new acting coach told me every moment of the day is a potential close up.
Studio Reader Stan: Even during my therapy hour?
Dr. Melrose: Strengthening my craft knows no time.
Studio Reader Stan: Is that what your new acting coach says?
Dr. Melrose: He says blinking exudes weakness, where as not blinking exudes power.
Studio Reader Stan: Right now it’s exuding creepiness.
Dr. Melrose: A powerful creepiness?
Studio Reader Stan: No, just creepy… Anyway, can we get back to my problems? What’s your take on what I’ve talked about today?
Dr. Melrose: Sorry, I haven’t been listening. It’s too hard to concentrate while not blinking.
Studio Reader Stan: But my session’s almost up?
Dr. Melrose: And not a minute too soon. I have a new mime coach I’m meeting today and I’d like to meditate first. See ya’ next session.
Dr. Melrose grabs a meditating mat and splits out the door.
