Dear Kendra~
I am so happy to have heard from you again; glad that things went well for you on the Fourth, and glad that Kellie and America got to see their first fireworks! I bet they were fascinated by them! (Yet, at the same time, they probably were scared of the noise! I know my kids were the first time they saw them, but now they have gotten over their fear of fireworks, and they just love them!) But sorry about the fire danger and the fact that it is over 100 degrees there! WHEW! Too hot for me! (And THIS coming from a CAJUN who is USED to heat! LOL)
I don't think you are anywhere near my family...you only have fifteen kids. I have FIFTY-TWO fixin' to be FIFTY-THREE children! So don't EVEN go there! LOL But I AM glad that I inspire you; that really means a lot! :)
I loved the picture of Keisha; my, they sure do grow up fast, don't they? Tell her that we wish her a belated happy birthday! My kids Johnny and Ronee' had their half birthday party a week ago on Saturday (June 25; Ronee' 's half birthday, Johnny's is the day after, but we celebrated it along with Ronee' 's), and they all had a very good time. They will be teenagers in only about five months; where DOES the time go to?? Seems like only yesterday when they were tiny babes; now they are turning into TEENAGERS! YIKES! LOL And Jodie, she will be fourteen in a few weeks; she is growing up so fast too! (I wish I could keep my kids little forever, but you and I both know that is next to impossible! LOL)
Okay...let's see what is up...oh, yes..we went to our city's Fourth of July festival, and the kids had a fun time. They had a parade, and Gemini marched along with the junior high band, and she twirled her batons; she really did a very good job! Ronee' was on the Easter Seal's float, and she was enjoying waving at the crowd and waving her little American flag. Jodie was also on that same float, and she laughed and laughed; she loves people, and she loves people watching her! She is another little camera bug, just like Ronee' (and Johnny)! Johnny performed during the evening's concert set, and he did a wonderful job playing the piano and singing his little heart out, and he also got to help with the sign language later in the show. He did a super job too! I am proud of all my kids!
And of course, we saw the highlight of the evening: the FIREWORKS! They had a beautiful display, and the display lasted I know a good forty five minutes; it was a BIG one, one of the biggest that I can remember! After the finale, the audience went nuts, and the cheering went on a good ten minutes AFTER the fireworks had ended!
Tomorrow, or sometime this week, I am going to the pet store, to see if I can find a sugar glider...my son, Johnny, has a friend who has one, and now he wants one. I am rather hesitant to get one because they are an exotic creature, and I am really not that familiar with them. I write to a man in Texas who raises sugar gliders, and after I saw the picture of one, I couldn't help but to be smitten. They look like tiny flying squirrels, and they are absolutely aDORable! I just have to make sure that I keep it away from the cats or the dogs, or else they may have an unexpected snack! I will also have to move my plants and make sure that the windows are closed, or else it may try to escape! I will also have to make sure that the toilets are closed, or else it may drown, and I bet it would be hard trying to revive such a tiny creature (mouth-to-glider resuscitation LOL)! I will have to see one up close before I make my decision; but right now, I am quite hesitant. I hear that even though they are tiny, they demand a lot of close supervision, and that they have a lot of attitude, plus they can't be house-broken. GREAT. Just what I DON'T need: a creature peeing and pooping at will! LOL NICE. Are you familiar with sugar gliders? I am just wondering, because right now, I am not sure if this is a good idea; but Johnny wants one so bad!
Ronee' is about healed from her surgery; she sould be back on her crutches sometime next week if she continues to do as well as she has done so far. She is getting around so much easier, and she can't wait to get back to her crutches again! She hasn't had any problems with her breathing OR with flares; so far her health has held out, and she is so much happier nowadays!
I am happy to know that Louisa made it through the difficult third trimester in her pregnancy, and that it is progressing well. I hope and pray this continues; you will have to let me know when she has her baby (if she doesn't do so first! LOL)!~ I am all ears! I have heard from America, but like you and Louisa, I know she is busy. I am busy too; heck, busy is my middle name! LOL I am SUPER MAMA! LOL Do tell Louisa and Jeff hello from us, okay?
Well, Kendra, I must run...Jodie pooped in her diapers again, and it was a big 'un. She smells quite ripe, and she looks quite proud of herself. I will have to change her before the smell knocks us over! LOL Take care, Kendra, and do write again when you get the chance; I will be looking for your letter! Yeah, I can't stop thinkin about those sugar gliders, either! They MUST be charismatic - even with all the peeing and pooping! And "half birthdays"? Is that the 6-month mark? I have trouble keepin up with the annual job, let alone the midway point! Tender and encouraging, Karen, thank you. Kate xx
