Studio Reader Stan meets again with Mr. Gold of Quality Studios.
Studio Reader Stan walks into Mr. Gold's office.
Mr. Gold: Studio Reader Stan, remember that script about the two guys in high school who start a band using only disgusting bodily noises as their sound?
Studio Reader Stan: Yeah. It’s gone down in history as the worst covered script ever.
Mr. Gold: Well, it turns out my son wrote it, so we’re making it after all. I'm going to need you to rewrite the coverage. Make it sound like the script's a masterpiece.
Studio Reader Stan: A masterpiece?
Mr. Gold: Yeah, we need to justify making it. Just write something glowing.
Studio Reader Stan: Mr. Gold, the script opened with a scene in which the only dialogue was two kids farting. For eight pages. I'm not sure how to glow about that.
Mr. Gold: Just say something like, 'Flatulence has never felt so fresh as is in this hilarious new script.' See how easy that was?
Studio Reader Stan: You did hear me say it was voted the worst covered script ever. I mean, we’re talking hundreds of thousands of scripts. Maybe more. This came in dead last. Rome Marriott’s script even finished ahead in the voting.
Mr. Gold: I hear what you’re saying. It won’t be enough to write better coverage for it. We’re going to need to write worse coverage for thousands of other scripts so it’ll look better in comparison. Good thinking. Get started on it now.
Studio Reader Stan: You want me to do all that? Alone?
Mr. Gold: Yeah, I don’t know how legal it is, and since it was your idea to begin with, it’d be best if you were the only one to take the fall. Just in case. Let me know when you’re done.
