There isn't a category called Weird so this got put under Mystery...:)
My imagination has always been good but there have always been unexplained things that have happened to me.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always has a slight 6th sense. Sometimes I get a feeling in my stomach and sometimes I get an actual ‘vision’ in my head. Needless to say I’ve learned to follow it and it’s always kept me from getting killed.

Case in point. I was riding my bicycle home from a friend’s house. She lived across town. She lived off of a major street and it has sidewalks on both sides. I turned onto the sidewalk and glanced up at the pedestrian bridge that goes over the road to prevent pedestrians from getting hit. I looked ahead of me to make sure there wasn’t a car coming out of the little corner store and it was all clear. I stood up to pedal a bit and thought “Great now I’m gunna have to call Mom and tell her I got hit by some jackass.” I hit the brakes just in time to miss getting hit by an all metal boat of a car. A second later and I would have flew over his hood or actually gotten hit with his front end.

I called him a curse word, which one I can’t remember. Swallowed my heart out of my throat and waited for him to either wave me through or get out of my way. He got out of the way. It seemed like he was completely oblivious of me but I felt better after yelling obscenities at him. By the way I was in high school.

Weird things like this have always happened to me but nothing takes the cake like the Lemonade Man.

A little history is needed for you to understand so here goes.

When I was little, somewhere from 5-9 years old the power lines went down in the back yard. To this day it is unexplained but that’s a story for later. I was scared of the dark for many years afterwards, still am a bit, but anytime it stormed and it woke me up I would go to my parents room and crawl into bed with them. All the while hoping that the lightning would hold off long enough for me to get in there.

Well one night a boomer of a storm woke me up and for those of you that have never felt the house shake from a clap of thunder need to go to Chicago, Illinois for a thunderstorm. The north west suburbs would do…Illinois has some of the most awesome storms. It has to be The Lake. Well a big boom shook the house and it was enough to make my waterbed make waves. It could have also been I was scared awake that helped the waves. I covered my head with my covers and hoped it was the end. Three booms and shakes later and I got the courage to get up to go to my parent’s room. I grabbed Emily, my stuffed horse that to this day still fits nicely in my neck, and stuck her in her spot on my shoulder but in my neck. I searched for my blanket and grabbed it. A bolt of lightning lit up my room and I flung the covers back over my head and shivered in fright. I waited an eternity for the thunder and after it was done rumbling I got up and put Emily back in my neck. I looked in the bathroom, right next to my room and it was empty. I took the left to go down the hall towards my parent’s room. I looked into my brother’s room as I went by and he was sound asleep. A bolt of lightening lit up the living room but my mom’s desk wasn’t sitting ‘behind’ the front door. Instead it was a man with a lemonade stand. He had Dixie cups of lemonade.

He motioned me forward and I walked towards him, completely passing my parent’s room. He held out a flowered Dixie cup of lemonade for me to take from him. I took it and smelled it. It smelled like real lemonade not kool-aide. I took a sip and smiled at him.

“You better hurry. The next one is close.” He said but to this day I can’t remember what he sounded like.

I adjusted Emily and walked towards my brother’s room. I took the right to get to my parent’s room. I went in, around the bed and finished the lemonade. I put the cup on my moms dresser and crawled in bed on her side. She scooted over and covered me up. I fell fast asleep.

The next morning Mom woke me up when she got up. She didn’t mean to but she was having problems getting around me. I rubbed my eyes and my mom turned to me with the cup in her hand.

“Where did this come from?” She asked me with a bewildered look on her face.

“The Lemonade Man gave it to me last night.”

She looked at me like she didn’t believe me.

“He was where your desk is.” I said in a pleading tone.

She shook her head and walked to the bathroom.

We always had Dixie cups but they were always Snoopy. We never had flowers.

I never saw him again but ever since that night thunderstorms haven’t been so bad and unless they shake the house I can sleep through them, usually…
