Louisiana writes to her friend in Mississippi, who is having a hard time right now, ever since the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina several months back.

Dear Maria~
I was so happy to have heard from you, but from the sound of things, it sounds like you are not doing so well. I am so sorry; is there anything that I can do to try to make things a LITTLE bit better for you? What a horrible thing to have people say that about you; if anyone told me that they wish that I'd died in that hurricane, I would be absolutely crushed! That is terrible! People can be so cruel sometimes!
I hope you got your FEMA money by now; let me know if you got it! If not, I will see if I can do something to help you out somewhat. I don't mind helping my friends, especially if they are in trouble, as you seem to be at the present time. I know I have my kids and my husband to take care of, plus paying the bills, and what not, but when people are in need of help, I try my best to do so and try to help them. I don't mind it, really...besides, Jesus helped people, and I feel that it is my Christian duty to try to do the same...follow His Example. Besides, it always makes me feel good to know that I am trying my best to help someone else, and the rewards are always great! (Maybe this is one reason why I have been blessed with so many beautiful children! *Giggle*)
Hopefully by now you have gotten the external fixator off your arm. I can only imagine how painful that must be. My husband had one in his arm after an industrial accident, but he still has damage in that arm, and it is partially paralyzed; but he has learned to adapt to his limitations, and he is a happy person (MOST of the time, especially when he is on his medication for his bi-polar depression). He also still goes to mental health counseling, and that keeps him grounded, as has church; church is very big in his life, and he lives to serve his Lord and Saviour! Are you receiving any type of therapy or other assistance? I hope so; it isn't fair to see decent, hard working people like yourself struggling after a natural disaster like this! This is NOT good! And it should NOT be!! We should be helping our OWN people instead of policing the world!! (ARRGGGHH!! Sorry for going off on a tangent like this, but some things get me all fired up, and sometimes I can't help myself!!)
Yes, my life IS busy, but I try to make time for my kids, and I also try to make time for my husband and myself. Sure, it would be nice to get away ONCE in a while from the children, but they need us right now, and right now isn't a good time. But we still can dream, can't we?? (A cruise does sound good right now....*Sighhhhhhhhhh* *Giggle*) And it is a life that I wouldn't trade for all the money in the world; I love my job, and I love my children! And they come first in my life! (Well, ACTUALLY, GOD comes first, THEN the kids and my job afterwards! Let me reinterate that, folks! LOL)
Did you see the meteors last night? There have been some spectacular fire balls the last week, and they are due to continue until at least Saturday before the Leonids start on Thanksgiving week. The Taurids, which are near Mars, are producing these meteors, and some of the bolides (bright meteors) are so bright you can definitely see them with the naked eye, even with the moon out! We have been watching the Taurids the past several nights, and we have really been enjoying them! (There is NOTHING like watching God's creations at work with your loved ones right by your side!!)
Well, Maria, I will see what I can do regarding your financial situation if you haven't heard from FEMA yet. (Hopefully, you will have done so!) I will also continue to lift you up in prayer. You take care, and try to have courage! Never give up hope; God is right with you, by your side, even though you feel your world is crumbling! He will NEVER leave you or forsake you...EVER. That is how much He cares for you and loves you!! May He bless you mightily, and know that I love you very much! And know this too: if you DO come up to Tennessee, my arms will be open wide for you, and you will surely be welcome to my home!

Exceptional, tender, compassionate write...Louie sounds like the friend to have. WHAT AM I SAYING? There's a whole lotta Louies here at the den, and in you in particular. :) It shows up in your excellent stories. BRAVA!
It's a kind soul to offer financial aid to a friend in need. My tarot card Bead and Pawn teaches how to distinguish those truly in need of a loan from those who just don't budget anything for tomorrow and spend recklessly. A tender and intimate letter of faithful loving support as ever, Karen. But my these issues are tough, tough, tough!! I believe that it is truly those with little who learn to share much and the most; they are the ones who know the value of bread. And, funnily enough, it is also the most busy people who usually make time for others, too. Truly, they are the salt of the world which keeps humanity peppered with goodness and preservation!
