This week, Studio Reader Stan meets again with shady producer, Sami Ginzle.
Studio Reader Stan joins Sami Ginzle at a restaurant.
Sami Ginzle: Studio Reader Stan, we got off to a very bad start last time, but I want to make it up to you.
Studio Reader Stan: Tricking me to come to this meeting by telling me you were someone else is not exactly a better start.
Sami Ginzle: I had no choice. With my poor reputation, getting meetings is nearly impossible.
Studio Reader Stan: Since you’ll probably stiff me with the bill again, do you think you can refrain from ordering half the menu this time?
Sami Ginzle: Too late for that. But anyway, the reason I’m here. I need a partner.
Studio Reader Stan: To do what?
Sami Ginzle: Check this. I’ve set up a shill producer name, whom people will submit their scripts to. You then read them and tell me which ones are good. I then steal them and attach my real name as producer. When they cry foul, they’ll sue the other producer’s name – who doesn’t exist and won’t ever be found. Pretty sweet, huh?
Studio Reader Stan: What gave you the idea that I would ever consider doing something so detestable?
Sami Ginzle: Money. Cash. Glory.
Studio Reader Stan: What about integrity?
Sami Ginzle: Integrity? How many Porsche's can you buy with that?
Studio Reader Stan: Y'know, I’d rather sleep well at night than make money and hate myself.
Sami Ginzle: You ought to be ashamed of yourself, wasting my valuable time like this. Don’t call me again.
Studio Reader Stan: I didn’t call you this time.
Sami sees a writer with a laptop sitting by himself and heads off to try to recruit him.
