Dear Maria~
I was so happy to have heard from you at long last; I was starting to wonder what was going on! I tried to call you at the number you gave me, but your phone was disconnected, and I hadn't heard anything; I was starting to worry! Thank you for letting me know; but I was sorry to learn of your health woes! How horrible! I will definitely be lifting you up in prayer, you can count on me!
I am glad that you and your husband and sons (as well as "Furball") are together, and I am glad that you have a place now. That is a huge relief! I was also happy to learn that you are employed; but now your health is the most important matter! I do hope that if you DO need surgery, it all goes well without a hitch, and I will be keeping in touch with your husband, so he can keep me up to date! I know tumors are scary. My mother had one in her brain; but unfortunately, maman's tumor turned out to be cancerous, and by the time they got to it, it was too late, and nothing could be done. All we could do was watch her slide downhill and then die. It was a horrible time for all of us kids, and for her husband; and we couldn't talk about maman for a very long time after that wtihout crying. But God has healed our broken hearts, and now we can talk about our maman (and also my sister Georgia and her family) without falling apart! We still do miss them all very much, but I know that God had a reason for taking them Home, and I know that they are all in a much better place; and that comforts me.
I hope you had a good Christmas. I know it probably was difficult with the health challenges you are facing, but I am glad that your family is there to support you in your time of need. I will try to do the same. Just give me your new number in Fort Worth, Texas, and I can call you, and we can pick up our phone conversations where we last left off! I always enjoy talking to you!
I will definitely have your name placed on our prayer chain at my church, and we will be most happy to lift you up! I know that they have been there when I have faced trauma and drama in my own life, and I don't know what I would do without my family or my church family! I am indeed blessed, and I can not imagine life without ANY of them!
Guess what! I am going on a CRUISE in October: we are going to ALASKA for two glorious weeks, "we" meaning my hubby and my kids! I got this cruise as a reward for my hard work at the hospital, and when I got it at the Christmas party I was more than surprised! I did NOT expect this cruise AT all!! :) So it looks like the Sanduskys will be doing a little TRAVELING this year!! :) I have something exciting to look forward to, as do my hubby and the kiddies! :)
Well, you take care. I have to get back to my job or else I will get canned. :) God bless you always, and know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through the surgery and then the treatments. It's the first time I have heard of a prayer chain. Makes good sense. If anyone wants to be included in my Goddess prayers, I am with my coyote bones down in the meadow 250 steps out my back door at my prayer circle I built with rocks and a 5-pointed star, the pentagram/pentacle symbol for Wicca, built from rocks, where I have a bleached-out coyote skeleton and prayer altar. Karen, you never cease to amaze me with these stories in letter form. They are great...you should compile them into a book, and then maybe people around the world will see that being disabled is not the same as being dumb. Everyone tells me to put my story into a book, and teach the world to sing. Maybe if you did this too, Karen, you could teach the world to sing, also. Very decent write sis, thnx for sharing.
