Hai! Miitu kuuluu? Kiitos hyvaas!
Congratulations on the announcement that you are pregnant! What EXCITING news!! I am so happy for you! I know your dear sweet Nikolas must be THRILLED!! :) I hope and pray that all goes well with your pregnancy and the birth of the baby! As soon as you find out what you are having, PLEASE DON'T hesitate to let me know!! :)
It was so nice to hear from you, Sari. I am glad that you are doing okay, but I was sorry to learn of that neigbhbor's little girl dying in that house fire. How sad! How old was she? Please tell the child's mother that I will be praying for her! She must be absolutely DEVASTATED! And it had to have been difficult for you to see that child being worked on by the firefighters as they tried to revive her! I know it is a scary thing to see a child (or ANYONE really, but especially a child) who is in danger of dying, and the paramedics (or doctors) are doing everything they possibly can to save that person's life! I have seen plenty of this as my career as a RN; such devastating sights are quite commonplace for me. But I deal with it, and I try to help that person live; if he or she doesn't, sure, it is upsetting, but death is as part of life as life itself, as they say!
On to more pleasantries...
No, the fires are NOWHERE near us here. They are mainly in the Southern Plains states (i.e., Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico), but there may FINALLY be some relief: rain is expected there over the weekend, and cooler temperatures are, too. But they need an awful lot of rain before the drought is officially broken. I have been praying for rain for that part of the country. I have been following up on the fires, and speaking of fires, my friends in Oklahoma lost their home/belongings to a fire; they are all okay, thank goodness, but they are staying with friends in Kansas for the time being. Nobody was hurt, but they are, as you can imagine, very upset. I also heard from their friends; this was how I found out about the fire in the first place, and I got a letter from Wilma and Fred the other day (which I have already responded to). The weather here is mild, partly cloudy, not too bad, but we may get colder by the weekend or early next week, according to the latest weather forecasts.
And I have been watching ol' Osama bin Laden spouting off again. I don't know why they don't try to find him or arrest him. He is a criminal, one of the worst possible kind, and he is about as evil as they come; he NEEDS to be stopped--and the sooner, the better! He just makes me ill! Because of him, twin towers no longer stand tall, nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children were murdered on September 11, 2001, and we are now at war, and our men and women are dying left and right at the hands of these terrible people who have absolutely NO regard for humanity! And there is another coal mine disaster in West Virginia (only two miners this time, but they are still trapped, and if they get out alive, it will be a miracle!). So the news isn't all that good. I don't know why I even BOTHER watching the news; it is always so depressing!!
You said that your friend Ilsa Rekkonen was coming over. Did she make it there? I hope so, and if she did, I hope she had a good visit with you. You sure do talk highly of her. She sounds like a person I would like to get to know!
Well, dear Sari, I will let you go now. I am at work, and break time is about over. I have to get off the computer and then clock back on to finish my last few hours before I leave at two-thirty, so I can be home before the school buses start rolling in.
