Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux writes about the snow they had several days ago in Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives.

Dear Journal~
Hey! This is Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux writing. I would usually be at church now, but it snowed some more; and it was hard getting out. So we just opted to stay home, rather than getting out in it.
I am sitting in my room; it is nice and warm, and I have my very furry Maine Coon cat, "Cajun", lying right next to me. She is sleeping, and she is nice and comfy against my hip! :) She was purring just a few minutes ago, but now she is probably dreaming of catching mice! :)
We had some serious snow a few days ago: we had upwards to eight inches, and yesterday, we kids had fun in it. We made snowmen and snowwomen (and snow animals), and we had a "mini-Olympics". It was a lot of fun; I got to hand out medals, and I was having a ball watching my brothers and sisters doing fancy tricks on the pond or on the ski jumps that they built. It was like Torino, Italy, the site of this year's Winter Olympics, only it was a MUCH smaller version, and there weren't people from all over the world in our yard.
We probably won't have school tomorrow because it's gotten much colder. The snow may very well freeze up tonight, which means for treacherous travel tomorrow. I will have to get up early and see. I hope we have school; we have a test tomorrow in Spanish and in English! We also have our Valentine's Day party on Tuesday, and I don't want to miss that!
Even with all the snow we got here in Nashville, it isn't NEARLY as bad as it is on the East Coast of the U.S.: they are getting a full-tilt boogie blizzard (complete with THUNDER and LIGHTNING) and as much as two to four inches of snow fall in ONE HOUR! So the snow is piling up fast, cancelling schools, businesses, and scheduled events, paralyzing traffic flow, and trapping people in their homes. There have also been power outages, making a situation all the more worse. The snow started out as rain in Texas, but then it gathered strength as it travelled up to Tennessee, and it only got stronger as it went up the East Coast. It bacame a "nor-easter", a storm known to hit the Eastern part of the U.S., bringing heavy rain or snow, cold, and high winds. Nor'easters can cause a lot of headaches or damage if they are bad enough.
We had some thunder and lightning with the snow we got a few days ago, but it was nothing to write home about. It was only for about an hour, then it stopped. I was not happy because I don't sleep well when it is thundering or lightning outside!
Well, I will go for now. I am going to go to bed. I am tired; I have had a long day (been up since before six this morning). I will write in here another day; maybe next time I will write about the Olympics going on in Torino, Italy--C ya!
