This week, Studio Reader Stan meets with his therapist who wants to be in show business.
Studio Reader Stan is with his therapist, Dr. Melrose. There’s a camera on a tripod stationed in the room.
Studio Reader Stan: Why is there a camera in here? Are you planning on taping my session?
Dr. Melrose: Yes. This way, I can take the footage home with me and really study you.
Studio Reader Stan: But the camera’s only focused on you.
Dr. Melrose: All right, fine. It’s for my demo reel. I want to show casting directors that I can play a Psychiatrist.
Studio Reader Stan: Well, if it gets you to actually listen to my problems, then I guess I’m okay with it.
Dr. Melrose: That’s the spirit. Take one... Action!
Dr. Melrose points at Studio Reader Stan to speak.
Studio Reader Stan: Uh, so again, this week I feel like I’m treading water, while others who have no apparent qualification for the jobs they hold, somehow seem to be succeeding wildly.
Dr. Melrose: Hm, yeah, that’s kind of dull. I’m going to need your problem to be far more interesting. How about you’re a psychotic maniac who’s about to go on a killing spree, but because of my brilliant therapeutic abilities, I’m able talk you down – and then convince you to be an Orthodontist?
Studio Reader Stan: I’d rather just stick to my problem – in the unlikely case that you’re able to actually give me useful advice.
Dr. Melrose: No can do. Your problem lacks drama. There’s no way I can showcase my acting chops with it.
Studio Reader Stan: You do realize I pay for these sessions?
Dr. Melrose: Why don’t we meet halfway? As you’re telling me you’re boring problem, you lunge at me with scissors, whereupon I disable you with a karate chop to the clavicle. That’ll show I’m willing to do my own stunts.
Studio Reader Stan assumes correctly that his problems will continue to go unsolved.
These Studio Stan stories just keep on getting better and better! More, more, more, please! Very well done; bravo!!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Studio Reader Stan should be airing on prime time with this week's installment. This is hilarious! I'm envisioning the therapist from "Sordid Lives"...
