Dr. Wright has found out that his wife, Sarah, is pregnant with a little boy. He is also continuing his health struggles involving his kidneys and the ongoing repercussions of having spina bifida, of which he has had since birth.
Hello! I am sorry for not writing in here in quite a while now, but I am just now trying to get my health back in order. I have been off because of kidney problems, but dialysis and medication has been helping. Eventually, I may need a kidney transplant, but I am trying not to think of that now.
I am writing in here because my dear, sweet wife, Sarah, is pregnant. She is five months along onw, and we have just found out yesterday that the baby she is carrying inside her is a little boy. So there will be a family member to carry on the family name! I have to tell our daughters, SueEllen and Brooklyn, that they are going to become big sisters in a few months; I know the littler one will cry, but I am sure that the older one wll be thrilled to pieces! I know I am! :)
I have been enjoying my time off away from the hospital, but at the same token, I have missed my colleagues, and I have missed my patients. I have enjoyed spending time with my beautiful family, but I also miss the action inside the operating room, and I miss the drama/excitement that surgery can bring.
Ever since my wife became pregnant, I have been acting as nursemaid to the girls and trying to be a dutiful husband; however, due to my spina bifida, sometimes I have bad days, and I need a little extra in the way of help. All in all, though, life is not bad; I would say it is pretty good, even with all my recent illnesses and medical care.
I wlll go now; it is time for me to go to my dialysis treatment. I will be there a good part of the day; afterwards, I will probably be tired, so I will probably have to lie down for a while and try to get my strength back. Dialysis always takes so much out of me.
