Ronee' feels a bit rattled after the recent spate of severe weather that plagued the Tennessee valley. She is recovering from an injured shoulder and a mild head injury due to a fall she had on Friday while going to the basement when the tornado sirens sounded.
Sunday, April 9, 2006, almost five in the morrrrrrrrrrrning (Grins), D.S.T.~
Dear Journal~
You are probably wonderin' what I, a growing girl, am doing up at this ungodly hour in the morning. Well, it seems that my head is hurting again. I fell the other day and seperated my shoulder and gave myself a big ol' goose egg on the back of my head. I was going downstairs to the basement when the tornado sirens went off (AGAIN), and I lost my footing and fell, headfirst, down the stairs. I don't remember anything until I woke up in the back of an ambulance.
I only had to stay in the hospital overnight, but I have a sore shoulder, and a sore head. *OW* I have my arm in a sling so I don't move my shoulder unnecessarily, and so I am relegated to using my wheelchair until my shoulder heals. NOT good.
Other than that, I am okay. Sore and bruised to heck, but otherwise okay. It could have been a whole lot worse; I am thankful to God that it wasn't!
O, we had some *NASTY* storms the other day. It seemed that the tornado sirens were stuck (on "ON" mode!!); one minute it'd be okay, and the next, there they would sound off again, thus, sending us Sanduskys scurrying to our basement and our storm shelter. (We have a storm room within our basement for added safety. We had it put in after the durecho we had several years back that damaged part of our house.) We were never so terrified in all our days; I kept praying as I had never prayed before! I was very scared!!
Thank GOD we had very little in the way of damage to our place, but a lot of people weren't so lucky. They either lost everything or else members of their family were hurt or even killed. So I will be praying for more people tonight when I go to bed.
Today is Palm Sunday, and we will have special pre-Easter services. We will also be working hard on our Cantata Practice come Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and Saturday is our "dress rehearsal" while Sunday is THE big day. I will be spending a lot of time at church this week, but I don't mind; I love the fellowship, and I love spending time with the Lord! :)
School is going well for me: no problem there. I have also been writing in my journal and practicing for the Cantata, and I am tired. I am also sore, thanks to my bum shoulder and my head! I don't know how I lost my footing, but I did, and down I went, head over heels!
I am going to try to sneak in an hour's sleep before maman chases us out of bed! So on that note, g'night!

I had a friend who did get caught in a tornado. She got blown down the stairs and handed on the couch in the basement. She wasn't hurt. We laughed, later, because that figured. She was a tom boy with 9 lives.
