Where did that little wuppie go?

Shaye is now 6 months old - almost 6.5 months.  That little guy I could carry around under my arm is now huge!  And still a lot of growing to do.

He has changed dramatically from that little fella with a big tongue, to a big fella with a tongue that has grown again as big!  I thought he would grow into his tongue but his tongue has grown out of him.  I've never seen such a tongue.  Most of the time it hangs out his mouth as it's way too long to stay in there lol.

He is now like a 2 year old terrorist child.  He is a thief, stealing anything he can.  But he is honest, he brings everything to me like as if he is boasting at his prowess.  I am forever putting everything up higher, but he is so big now he can stand with his feet up on a shelf and steal things from way up high.

He bit through the phone line to the laptop computer and then he bit through the lead from the power point to the dvd player/burner (a portable one).  Fortunately he bit through the section of lead that ran from the transformer to the burner, so whatever shock he may have received, it was a minor one.  I didn't see it happen, I just found it when I was crawling under the desk looking for something.  He is very clever, brings his toys over under the desk to play, but ...... what you think he is doing he really isn't doing.  So now I have two large plastic containers under my desk in front of all the leads.

I had this huge white teddy bear, it took up half my bed.  I was waiting for someone, I don't know who, to have a baby so I could donate the teddy.  Shaye found it in the spare room, wrapped in plastic, when he was very little.  He dragged it out into the hall and, like all softies, I decided that he must be the baby I kept it for.  So, I gave it to him.  He loved it, chewed it, rolled all over it, dragged it around.  His little needle teeth didn't worry it too much.  But, then he lost all his baby teeth and grew these bigggggg teeth.  Ooops, poor teddy.  He worked hard on him until he had bitten his nose off, and then he started to drag out all poor teddy's innards.

I sat one day and stitched up teddy's poor mangled face.  He no longer had a nose but he was still intact other than that.  In comes Shaye.  hmmmm teddy is back... straight into him again in the same spot.  He chewed and chewed until he had broken the stitiches and was pulling the innards out again.  By this time I'd had enough of him, and teddy, so poor teddy had to be decapitated so he would fit in the garbage bin. I cut his arms and legs off, and felt guilty I might add, and stuffed him in the garbage bin.  My granddaughter had a teddy identical to mine, and over it came for Shaye.  Awww she felt so sorry for him for losing his mate.

She didn't feel sorry for him next time she visited as she found her teddy had no nose either and his innards were being pulled out.  She was horrified.  So once again, I sat and stitched up teddy number two's face.  He is now in the spare room with the stitches ripped out and his innards pulled out.  I'm loathe to cut him up and discard him so I might just give him one more chance to stay in one piece.  However, if you saw Shaye's teeth, you would agree that teddy's existence here is very limited :(

Shaye isn't spoilt, of course.  I cook him breakfast every day - maybe devon and eggs fried with cheese and fried bread (fattening I know), or scrambled eggs and toast with vegemite.  Or then he might have porridge and puppy milk.  I bought a canine cookbook and although I always cook his dinner, usually chicken and veges and rice or pasta, I now have an assortment of dishes I can cook him, along with lots of different cookies and treats.  He usually shares a bit of my dinner as well, just so we habitate together :)

He sleeps in the laundry, which is part of the house, and has done since he was tiny.  He goes in there around 9.15 at night and I don't hear from him until I go and let him out at around 7.00 or a bit later.  He never messes in his bedroom and hangs on until he is outside.  Oh he won't go do wee wees without I go with him of a morning either.  It's just something we share :)

While I have been typing this he has stolen a number of items and brought them over to me.  After he has had a chew of course :)  So that's an update on that little ray of sunshine who is now quite a beam of sunshine.  He is over 20kgs and growing by day.  His anticipated weight will be around 37kg so he has a bit to go yet.  His coat is growing longer and his face is much longer.  HIs legs are strong with big feet.  His tail, that was once very ratty, is now growing the long hair that it should have.  He has found he has a tail and spends a bit of time chasing it around.  I don't let him do that too long as nothing is much worse that a dog chasing its tail all the time.

Hope you have enjoyed spending a little time in my world with Shaye.  I'll try and attach a photo of him to this, a later version than the lil one on the other story.

Take care and I'll give Shaye a big smooch from whoever reads this.
