Ronee' is happy because she is on a two-week sabbatical from school due to the Easter holiday. She is also happy because she has the Cantata at her church to look forward to, and she and her family have company from California at her house.

Dear Journal~
Hi! This is your gal pal, Ronee', writing! I hope this finds you well! I am doing terrific! Couldn't be doing any better than I am right now! :)
I am off from school for two glorious weeks! We are on Easter vacation, and we have company from California at our place. (They arrived just yesterday, and already we are having a wonderful time!) My friend, Rebekkah Cohen, and her aunt, Louisa Mason, are here. Rebekkah looks quite good for what she has had to go through recently. She lost her leg a few months back and is now walking on crutches and her artificial leg until she gets used to it. She is getting around quite well! (She had an infection that only got worse, so the docs had no choice BUT to amputate.)
Rebekkah also met Johnny for the first time (she has claimed him as her boyfriend), and they have hit it right off. It was cute at the airport: she gave him a big smackaroo right on the kisser, and Johnny about DIED, he was so mortified! It was so funny I couldn't help BUT to laugh! It still makes me grin each time I think of poor Johnny's expression on his face! *hee*
Last night, after we got home from the airport, we had pizza for supper, and then we went to our church, Christ Community Assembly of God, where they had a special concert. The McGruders from Missouri were in town, and they performed at our church. It was very enjoyable, and quite a few people got blessed. There were even some people who went up to the altar after the concert to accept Christ, and it was all very moving!
I got to meet the McGruders after the concert, and I had my picture made with them, got their autographs, too. They were very nice, and I told them I would see them again if I had the chance to. I told them I really liked their concert and that I had been a Christian for almost six years, since I was seven.
The Spirit of the Lord was very prevelent, and I saw angels in the aisles, in the pews with the people, and in the balcony. It was very exciting, and there was a lot of praisin' and shoutin' goin' on! GLORY! It still gives me goosebumps when I think of all those angels! It was cool! :)
Tonight we start rehearsing for our Cantata (it is the dress rehearsal, if you will), and tomorrow we start the Cantata, no practicing, but the real deal. Hopefully there will be a lot of people coming, and hopefully we will spread the Message to the masses! It is going to be exciting, and in the Cantata, I will be singing "And The Blood Is Still There" (I THINK that is the name of the song; anyway, it was originally done by the Kevin Spencer Family of Ohio, and it is very powerful!) and "The Ole Rugged Cross".
My brother, Johnny, will be doing the sign language so the deaf/hard-of-hearing members of our church can follow along and know what is going on. There will be special music with guest singers and the adult and kids' praise teams, and Pastor Bilkey will be preaching about the Resurrection of Christ and why Easter is so symbolic with new life.
I have more good news: my friends Michael and Jenna Doucet in Alaska, had their baby: they had a little boy, Mattaq Michael William Doucet, and he was born premature: he weighed just over a pound, and right now things look pretty dicey for him. I pray he makes it; when a baby is that premature, so many things can go wrong, and he could easily die or become disabled somehow!
I hope and pray that doesn't happen! If it does, they would be so heartbroken! I would too! He was born sooner than expected because Jenna fell while trying to get out of bed, and her water broke. Needless to say, the ambulance had to be called, and Jenna had to be rushed to the hospital.
I did hurt my shoulder last week (it will be a week come tomorrow). We had bad storms in the area, and when I was going downstairs when the tornado siren went off, I slipped, lost my footing, and fell head over heels. The last thing I remember was smacking my head against the stairs, and then--everything went black.
When I woke up, I was surprised to find myself in the back of an ambulance, a doctor peering down at me. I suffered a mild concussion, and I also injured my shoulder. Because of it, I have had to do everything one-handed, and I have had to use my wheelchair instead of my canes. It's been a lot of fun--NOT. I am feeling a lot better, but I still have at least another week to go before I get the sling taken off. Boo!
Well, I am going to go now. My poor arm feels like it is going to fall off. NOT the easiest thing in the world to type with just one hand! I also have to get ready and eat, so we can get ready for our dress rehearsal. I hope it all goes well, and I hope I don't flub up big time! That would be so mortifying!!
Bye for now! Happy Easter to y'all! C ya!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux. :D
To start the letter with 'I'm doing terrific'is soooo good to see! The little girl deserves all the blessings in the world! Wonderful write, love and hugs, Birgit and Roger
They have made amazing advancements in medical science and the care of very premature babies nowadays, the chances are baby Mattaq
will remain in intensive care for a considerable period of time, until his lungs are fully developed to be able to breathe on his own, and he will receive 24 hour round the clock care and attention, in the meantime we can only hope and pray that he will pull through this crisis, and his parents are given strength of mind to be able to cope with the extreme worry of it all, Karen !
Love and Blessings
Peter
