Dear Kate Grimswold~
Hi! Thanks for writing; it was great to hear from you again! I am glad that everyone is well there. Everyone here is doing great, and it is good to have the house back to ourselves again. Our company has left (they got back safe and sound, no problems on that front); it is quiet (or as quiet as it can be from having over forty kids still in the house...LOL). It's just us and the pets. LOL
I am at work as I write this...it is an unbelieveably slow morning. I have checked on the new admissions, and I have gone through my charts and entered the information on the computer. Now I am sitting here, trying to scare up something to do. It is that quiet here at NMH. (Usually, all he-- breaks loose, especially if I am summoned to the ER...) I think I shall enjoy it while the gettin's good. *grins* Doesn't happen very oftennnnnnn....LOL
Maybe I DO need to move to Alaska; but the cold would kill me. I was born in Louisiana; I am USED to heat! LOL I would freeze more than my body if I had to live up there in Alaska! LOL I DO love Alaska, don't get me wrong; but it is just too brutally cold for this hot-blooded Cajun mamma! LOL
So in Tennessee I guess I will stay--severe storms and all! LOL
I happen to LOVE Tennessee. I love her people, and I love living in a city like Nashville. There is always so much to do here, and it is a great place in which to raise a family. There are many opportunities for people of all ages, and there is always something exciting going on here.
Kate, I am sorry to inform you that I meant all three children when I said that I lost them. They all died. Two were only tiny babies: one (Pierre) died of SIDS when he was just six days old, and the other (L'Acadia) died at the age of 16 days from cerebralspinal meningitis in which she contracted from an infected baby in the NICU nursery. (She was just too small--and much too sick--to be able to survive.) As for the third child (Aron), he died on the day he was to have been four years old: he died of cerebralspinal meningitis.
I have known much tragedy, as you can see, but God has brought me out of it, and while the pain never completely goes away (and while I still miss my children very much), I can at least now talk about it without falling apart. I have accepted their deaths, and whenever we are in Louisiana, we visit their gravesites.
I will be going now: they are paging me to the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit); seems that a "Code Blue" (breathing emergency) is currently underway...pray I make it to the child in time; pray the child makes it...oh, how I HATE these "Code Blues", particularly if a child is involved! Write to you soon!
Take care, and God bless!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Louisiana Mayrah. :) (tryin' to smile despite the fear currently gripping my heart...)
Karen
I am the same as you, I couldn't stick the cold of Alaska...Scotland is bad enough !!!
Give me some good old California or Texan heat anyday...:)
Love
Peter
