Dear Louie in Tennessee~
Thanks for your prayers; they are very much appreciated! Believe it or not, the little scrapper is hanging on mightily; he is such a fighter! He has had a good few days, and I am hoping that this trend continues. He is still exhibiting weakness on the one side, but hopefully that will soon pass. His vital signs are mose stable, and he hasn't had any more brain bleeds, thank the Lord!
I am in a much better frame of mind, but I am physically and mentally spent. I have been sleeping when I haven't been at the hospital, and Jenna has been doing the same. I have started taking her to counseling, and right now it is too early to see if it has made any difference. She is still quite depressed, and everything we say seems to turn into an argument. Please be praying for her!
I don't know how people can endure this endless--waiting--and uncertainty. I hate worrying about little Mattaq like this! It seems that he is the only thing I think about when I am awake, and no matter what I do, little Mattaq is never far from my mind. I see him lying there in the NICU at the Children's Hospital, hooked up to tubes and such, and struggling to live, and it is enough to make me want to break down in cry! A little baby like him shouldn't have to suffer so much! It is so damned hard!!
How are your kids coming along? I hope and trust everyone there is well. I am sending you a picture of our son that I took the other day on the day when he started to look better. He is still a peanut of a guy, but hope springs eternal, and the prayers are most certainly helping! Hopefully soon he will start getting some of that stuff off of him and look more like a human baby than a little alien!!
Well, Jenna is awake, so I will tend to her. In the meantime, it is early-early; I haven't been to bed yet and I am about to fall over! (That is, once I take care of Jenna; she comes first, no matter how I feel!) Take care, Louie, and thanks again for your prayers/concern! God bless you always!
