Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Did you know that God can restore you to sanity? When I came to believe that there was a God that could restore me to sanity something happened. My life began to change. He began to pull out those weeds of corruption and evil and replace them with the beautiful flowers of God's Holy Spirit. But sometimes as one weed is pulled another grows up in it’s place. For example; I was finally able to stop drinking but my language was horrible. Four letter words flew from my lips like a sailor. I simply was not convicted in this area of my life. Until one day, God revealed my sin to me. I’m not sure when it happened but I can no longer tolerate vulgarity. It truly offends me. God pulled that weed in His time. But I must play a part in this divine gardening. I must seek Him and believe that He is capable of cleaning me up. Be patient with yourself and remember the motto: Progress not perfection. Now that I have given up cigarettes I feel almost perfect, but then I'll have a bad thought or I'll fight with my husband. So no matter how hard I try I am reminded each day that I am only human. But don't get discouraged at your continual lack of self control. God already knew you would fail. And He has already made provision for you to get back up. I am happy with who I am today, faults and all. Because I know I am exactly the way God wants me to be. And if there is some other area of my life He wants to clean up I am sure He will hand me the hose.

I am amazed at the transformation that has taken place in my life. My mom sees it, my kids see it, even I can see it. It is an amazing feat and if you knew me before, you would consider the change an absolute miracle from God. The change in myself gives me hope for those people in my life that seem so hopeless. I know that if God changed me He can do the same for them. No matter how difficult a person seems for us, they are nothing to God. Believe me, He can do all things.
