Dear Audrey~

I am glad you are safe and sound there in California; that is a relief on my mind! I am sorry if I didn't call you or write back, but I have been busy, and we have so many things going on in our lives. I hope you understand.

I am sorry I didn't get to see you whenever you came to Fire Mountain, but Camey and Tammi really never talked about their co-workers much. They just went to work and did their jobs; and speaking of Fire Mountain, I am afraid that I have some bad news concerning Camey: her position has been eliminated, so she will be unemployed before too long. (Tammi will keep her job, but Camey will be the one to be let go.)

Please keep her in prayer: it is hard enough being a high schooler and looking for work when there is so much competition and so many others who are in the same boat as she is.

She also happens to have epilepsy, and a lot of people don't want to hire her, for fear of her having a seizure at work or risking an injury during the seizure. It is really a sad situation.

Camey came home from work yesterday, and she was in tears. Her last day is Friday; she works from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Have you heard anything regarding the status of Susie's whereabouts? Have you found any clues or leads? Please keep us informed; we will be praying extra hard for you and the girls! I am glad that little Lacey is with you; but I know that she must be traumatized for all that has happened in the last six months of her little life!! In the meantime,  YOU be careful!! It is a very dangerous world out there, especially if one isn't familiar with the area!

No, I won't tell Ronee' about Susie; I think that is the best thing for now. Ronee' has always had a sensitive heart about her, and she will probably find out about this somehow down the road; I just don't want to be the one to break the news to her. I will tell her to pray that she is found, and say nothing more.

To change the news a bit, did you see the "Today Show"? It was Katie Couric's last day on the program (after fifteen years; God, Bill and I got married not long after she came to "The Today Show"! Shows how old  we really are, hunh? LOL), and it was an unforgettable, emotional ride, for not only Katie and her pals, but her many admirers and legions of fans.

We have had the pleasure of meeting her (as well as Al Roker and Matt Lauer) when we were in NYC several years back, and they were all very warm and hospitable, three of the nicest people to be found anywhere! We were watching the show, and all I could do was sit there and bawl my eyes out! The "Today Show" will never have another one quite like Katie Couric, and she gave the show a lot of class (not to mention, plenty of times for fun and frolic). She was one of a kind, and she will forever be remembered!

At least she isn't disappearing: we will be able to catch her on the CBS Evening News come September. She will still be on television, just on a different network! :)

How is the weather there in California? Here it is warm with temps in the eighties, with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon (pulse or popcorn thunderstorms; a common occurance in the Southland, as you are aware of, from all your times living in Mississippi). Then the clouds dissapate, the sun comes back out, the air is more humid, and the evenings are sticky and starry until the next round (unless a front or low pressure area is coming, that is). I hope the weather is good there!

In just a little over two weeks, our little Miracle from Russia, Vlademir Aleksander, will be joining our family. We are all wild with anticipation; we cannot WAIT until he comes! We also have our Mexican cruise to look forward to several weeks after that, and of course, our fifteenth wedding anniversary. And don't forget our Alaskan cruise in October when we ALL will be on board!! :) That is going to be an experience in itself: dragging fifty-four kids along on a SHIP! (Man overboard! LOL Or better yet, MOTHER overboard! LOL)

Well, Audrey, this is it for now. I am going to get back to my eating; I am at work, and I am on break, and I want to eat my lunch before it grows cold. I will be getting off at two today (my usual time). Take care, and do write again soon. Again, I am sorry for the delay in responding to your e-mail, but so much is happening I don't know whether I am coming or going! half the time!
