Dear Journal~
Hi! How's tricks? Hope all is going well! For me, things couldn't be any better! :)
I am sitting here in the early a.m. (still dark here; sun hasn't come up yet), looking out the window. We are at a motel not far from Michael and Jenna's place, and we are in the middle of our cruise, "we" being myself and my family. We came into Anchorage Sat. afternoon, and so far, while here, we have gone to the Alaska Zoo (yesterday) and went to the Native Heritage Center. We are going back there today. We will then stop by Jenna and Michael's place and see their new baby boy, Mattaq.
I have gotten myself some new sweatshirts, two new Inuit baby dolls (I collect porcelain baby dolls; I have four Inuit ones now and ten Native American baby dolls in my collection), some new reading material, and some new games for my computer at home (my regular one, not my laptop).
I have seen some northern lights; in fact, as I write this now, there are purple-and-pink auroras dancing in the early morning sky, and it is an awesome sight. It is all I can do to keep from going "OHHH!" or waking up my roommates Keisha and Gemini, who are sharing the room with me. I came to Alaska to see the northern lights; looks like I got my wish! :)
Tomorrow we go back to meet the ship, then we continue on our cruise. In a day or two we should start heading back to San Francisco, California, where we will fly back home to Tennessee. I am not looking forward to that at all; I know I'll probably cry!!
The cruise was everything I imagined it would be: we saw and did things as a family; we saw things we'd never seen before, and the air here is so crisp and clean, it is UNREAL!! The scenery is spectacular, and it is as though we are seeing God's Beauty on a grand scale!
We've seen bears, hawks, moose, caribou, elk, geese, owls, ducks, eagles (both bald-headed and golden), wolves, and fox, and when we were on the ship, upon getting to park in the dock upon our arrival, an eagle landed right on the railing, directly behind maman. It was cool! I've never seen an eagle that close up; what a magnificent creature! :)
Well, guys, this is it for now. I am going to go back to bed; it's waaaay too early for me to be up! 'Sides, I'm on vacation; I don't have to go to school! On that note, goodnight, sweethearts! See ya! :)
