Desperate measures are needed to keep a lid on crime .
The sports job roared to a screeching stop at the entrance to West Side .
A tall figure opened the door and got out and approached a young kid with a skateboard under his arm .
“Hello Jim “.
He said reaching out his hand .
Jim spat on the ground .
“Have you seen my new skateboard trick ?”
“Yeah Jim . Where’s the crew ?”
“Dunno “
Jim replied .
“What happened to y’all at Sinside park .”
“Bra got squashed . Under the wheels man . Thank God you’re finally here .
Cops came man . We all made a run for it but there was cars all over the place . We had no where to run .”
“Before I burst out laughing Jim . I want you to welcome my new friend .”
He held up a hand gun to Jims head .
He pressed it real hard against Jims temples .
“You’re the funny man . Always doing tricks on your board and putting your face where its not wanted . The funny thing is you’re not funny anymore . Let me hear you laugh now Jim .”
A click was heard .
“You’re not laughing “
“What’s happening ? Stop clowning around . Its not funny .“
Another click .
“Laughing boy . You’re out of control . Some of the crew’s gone down .
You’re a danger to us now . Time to bow out .“
With another squeeze of the trigger Jim was blown away .
The guy with the gun spat on the ground .
“You’re wasted and we’re all the wealthier for it .”
He went through his pockets and took all the stash that was there .
Then he dragged the dead body to a bridge where a lot of heavy traffic passed by on the freeway underneath .
He spat on the ground again and threw the body over .
“Skateboards are much too dangerous these days .”
He walked away and retuned to his car .
He got in and started the engine and roared away down the hill .
A short distance away the car pulled up outside a derelict post office and the driver got out and walked inside .
Walking upstairs he was met by a large man who sat there on a lounge chair . The room was quiet for a while and the silence finally broke .
‘Jims found a new place to skate .“
“Did you tell him the joke was on him .“
Said the large guy .
“Yeah but he didn’t seem to have a good sense of humour . Dunno why “?
Came the response .
“Ha Ha . “Were other members of the crew told .“
A nod of the head .
“Every one .“
“Did they laugh as hard ?”
“They died laughing .“
He spat on the floor .
“Yeah . Our family really kill me with their sense of humour ?
“I have another joke to pull .“
He took his hand gun and handed it over .
The other guy checks it out gets to his feet and puts the gun away in a box .
Returning to his seat he says ,
“When ?”
“Tonight when the crew are out on the town .“
“Does anyone suspect you’re a cop ?”
“No .“
“You’re a hard man and work in well .“
He hands over some money and another handgun .
He takes the weapon and says .
“I’m street wise , That’s all .“
“Like myself you’ve grown up fast on the street . Keep the ball rolling . See you tomorrow then . After you clean up the scum .“
Tomorrow never comes they say .
Came the answer .
“There is always a day after and justice has its own kind of karma .“
As he walks out of the room he does a few dance steps .
“Crazy love . Like the man can’t sneeze but see him dance >”
He walks out the door dancing .
Bent over in a buckle he does this hilarious laugh dance .
He gets into his car and drives off towards the school of hard knocks by Sinview Bay .
With his life on a thread he walks into a card game with some of the crew .
They acknowledge him at the table and deal him a few cards .
He was given some difficult hands to play . He pulled in a few jokers and then cleaned up with his final flush .
He shot dead five of the crew who thought they were on the top of their tree .
Even with a five dead he still had not dinted the surface of the hardest crew the city ever had .
Ain’t crime the kind of thing to betray you when you’re not paying respect where its due .It was too late when the crew knew who they had been
messing with .
The undercover squad nicknamed comedy cops had cleaned up Sinview
In less than a year . They worked with such an intensity that no one could see what hit them and where it came from .
