Love letters from the other side continues with Leah trying to sneak out of her own home and past the men from the government parked in front of her house.

“I can’t believe this. Here I am trying to sneak out of my own house like some hormone induced teenager. You know this is your entire fault Allen. One is for not being upfront with me in the beginning, and two for turning me into a person of questionable sanity. I find myself talking to you all the time now like you are here beside me…see, I’m doing it now. Well, there is no need to stop now so if you can hear me in that parallel universe you speak of then pay attention to me for a change.

Now lets see if I can just ease this old heap of car you bought last year down the back drive unnoticed…ah, here we go and none of those MIB’s are any the wiser. You see Allen; I can too do things on my own. You always said that if you weren’t around then I would be helpless, well I’m not and if you are listening, which I know is about as big of a joke as my conversing with you right now, but if you are by chance, then I want you at that ha ha Bridge To Nowhere in twenty minutes because I have a letter to you of my own from this side.”

(Drives down the highway reaching her destination.)

I’m almost here Allen, can you feel me? Do you feel my love, my hurt and my anger? I hope that you do because I am experiencing all of that at this very moment. Hmm I didn’t think that your bridge was this far off the road last week, I see it now, but it looks like it has been moved further away than before. That can’t be though since large inanimate objects like bridges don’t move, but I swear, this one seems to have…

Whew, that had to be a mile hike if it was an inch, but I am here at last, and yes it is further and I don’t care what anyone says. Did you hear that Allen? Your stupid bridge is not where you left it, now try to explain that one away with some old Indian tale or some fancied up theory of quantum whatever they call it physics. Wow, I feel like I need a nap…

”Have a seat madam and rest a spell”…

”Why thank you, I don’t mind if I do”…

Oh shut up Leah, you starting to sound like a crazy woman. Not only are you talking to yourself now, but you are bringing in other imaginary people as well…just shut up and sit down.

(Distant far off calling….)

“Leah? Oh Leah darling…can you hear me baby? I know you are there, Leah; it’s me Allen. Come to my voice sweetheart, come to my voice.”

“Allen? Is that you? Where are you and where are you hiding? I knew you never went anywhere, now you get right out here this instant, you hear me?”

I hear you darling, but I can’t come to you just now. I really am on the other side and we don’t have long. This voice communication is just a temporary sanction brought on by the spectral bands between the two dimensions. I don’t have the time to explain it all to you just now, but I will do so as soon as possible. Did you happen to notice that the bridge seemed farther away to you than previously? Well that is because it is…in effect the bridge is collapsing on itself from the gravitational pull between the two dimensions. This time next week, the bridge in itself will not even exist. There will however remain a small unseen window in which we can continue to exchange written letters. Now come closer my love and hold out your hand.”

“Allen, this is crazy, now you cut this hocuses pocus out and come home.”

“I am home Leah, this is where I belong and so do you. Now reach out your hand in the direction of the bridge…a couple feet to the left…a little lower. That’s it.”

(Withdraws hand)

“What the…..You touched me, I felt you but I didn’t see you…Allen, I’m scared”

Well I guess there is no reason for me to ride down there and see this bridge if it is collapsing in on itself...just keep sending Leah her letters and such & she will be as happy as she can be under the circumstances...Ed
