the one and same administrator from the Gypsy King.....
We had just opened the new Hospital in Henry county, Ga..
almost all the staff, including me, who had worked together at Southern Regional Hospital in clayton county...Had jumped ship and came to HGH
We all knew each other and pretty much only the coolest folks were there.
One evening, again hanging around the ER...tonite was very slow and we had no patients for a while....
Enter the afore mentioned admistrator, saying
"Gosh, it's awfully quiet...what we need is a good bus wreck".
Professional jaws dropped all around and the place got very quiet..the fool Was, I guess trying to fit in with the joking, but us medical folks didn't see the humor in this bean counter's jest...We never would wish harm to anyone just to fill up the ER...and make money ...he got a funny look on his face and slinked away...I lost all respect for him that night that I never had anyway ........

The humor experienced is part of why we watch sitcoms. There are times when we need blase' "nitcompoop" bonehead humor. It is very real and it is what depresses us at times and to make light of it makes it, somehow, bareable. The poor guy needs to be toleratd, just a tad, for his own sadness.
I can see why, though I have heard that people in the undertaking business sometimes use black humour among themselves, as a way to tempor the sadness and grief they deal with day after day.
