Howdy! It was nice to hear from you; thanks for writing! I hope this finds you well!
Thank you for telling me about your beautiful family; they sound like wonderful kids!
To tell you about myself, Breeanna, I am married (nearly 15 years now; it will be fifteen years in late June!) to Bill Sandusky, and we started adopting 14 years ago. We first adopted a little boy from Germany; a week later, a racially-mixed little girl from Louisiana came to our family. Then seven more came, and the kids have continued coming ever since! LOL We now have adopted a total of fifty-nine children, most with special needs, and we have applied to adopt a sixtieth child into the family! (Call us crazy, but we just love children!)
Our children come from places like Africa, Sri Lanka, India, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, China, Romania, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Germany, Canada, Latin America, Holland, France, and the United States. Most are children with special needs; by the miracle of adoption, they are ours, forever and always. :)
I am a nurse; have been one for about twelve years now. I love it. I work at a big hospital not far from my home, and I am the charge nurse of the day shift (though lately, I have been doing a lot of night shifts due to the nursing shortage). I don't mind though; it's extra money! :)
My husband works at Wal*Mart; he is a people-greeter. He loves it too; he has been there for a little over three years now. He is also disabled.
We go to church every Sunday and Wednesday; church is very important to our family. We go to a nondenominational church. In addition, we have choir practice on Thursday evenings, and the kids go to their Royal Ranger/Missionette activities/meetings while we adults are at the Wednesday night service. My husband accepted the Lord when he was a little boy; I and the majority of the kids have been Christians seven years now, or going on seven years.
I am trying not to cry: just found out yesterday evening one of my friends' daughters were shot; they are now in the hospital, fighting for their very lives. It doesn't look good. I hope they make it in one piece! The girls were shot while walking home from church, and ever since I heard the news, my heart's felt like jello! Please keep the Cohen family in your prayers; they could reallly use a miracle about now! (The Cohens live in California.)
I have been to Burleson, Texas. I have a sister who lives there. Maybe you know her. Her name is Arizona. She is married to a banker, and they have a whole slew of kids. I love the Dallas/Fort Worth area; there is always a lot to do there!
We have been to Billy Bob's Texas on several occasions, and we have been to the Fort Worth Stockyards, as well as some of the Opry shows in that region. We hope to return to the DFW metroplex again soon.
Have you ever been to Nashville? If not, you should come. If you love music, Nashville is the place to come. You'd love the Grand Ole Opry; we have been there so many times I can't remember how many times! LOL We have seen just about all the stars, and we love going to concerts!
How is the weather there? Here it is sunny and cool, temps in the fifties; it's supposed to warm up to the sixties and then to the seventies by midweek. Yes, spring has certainly sprung here!
Tomorrow the family is going to the St. Patrick's Day festivities in downtown Nashville; there'll be music (mostly Irish, of course), and there'll be a big parade. We went last year, and we had a marvelous time. We all love to watch those Irish stepdancers, and we all love Celtic music. (Of course we'll all be wearing green.)
Why not? Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day! *giggle*

I love all the names, so unique!Here's one for you.... Orpha, yes, that is the name of an elderly citizen. These are great writes, so interesting and full of life!
No mention of the tragedy about the Cohen family, a bright and shining introduction to the life of a SuperMom and her village. :) Beautifully penned, Karen, well done!
