“Bedtime baby, time to go to bed,” she said from the kitchen sink.
“I don’t want to go to bed ma. I’m not sleepy,” the four-year-old boy said.
“That’s okay, but you still have to. Got to get your sleep.”
“Please ma?”
“Nope. There are your pajamas on the bed. All ready for you to jump into.”
The lad goes over and begins to change into his pajamas.
“I’ll be there shortly for your prayers,” his mom said.
“Okay, now let’s kneel down.” Both kneeled.
“Repeat after me: Now I lay me…”
“Now I lay me…” the little boy repeated obediently to the end of the prayer.
“Good, that’s my little hero,” she told him. “God bless mama.”
“God bless mama.”
“God bless daddy.”

“I love you Jesus.”

“Can you read me a story?” the boy asked.
“Not tonight, your daddy’s waiting. I will tomorrow night. I promise. I’ll read you a story about Moses. You want to learn about Moses?”
“Yes,” the boy answered.
“That’s my little fella. You’re a handsome boy. One day you’re gonna be a handsome and famous man. Make a lot of money. But you’ll never forget Jesus and helping others. Promise me that. You gonna do that for your mama?
“I promise mama,” he said.
“Promise what Elvis?” she asked.
“Never to forget Jesus.”
“That’s my hero. Okay, you get a nice kiss. Oh, Elvis, how mama loves you!”
