Well This is really a play but it is very dramatic:) It is a play of basically 4 main Characters. Mya-A prostitute. Byran-A sucessful business owner. Terry-A bar owner. Anita-Mya's mother a seamtress. The setting is basically in Harlem,New York. People who would never hang out together are now working together on a major problem.
Lights come up on a busy seamtress at her table who is working on a intracite dress. The seamtress looks a little bit over 40 and seems to have the eyes of a mother. The doorbell dings as a scantly dressed young woman enters the shop and looks the age of 24. The woman comes up to the older woman's table as if exspecting something
MYA: Mother you asked me here now what do you want? (She places her small hands on top of the sowing machine)
ANITA: (looks up at her daughter) Well, to be honest darling I really want you to behave and dress like a civilzed young woman.
MYA: Oh mother we've had this discussion. Look, Ma (starts speaking in street language) this is my profession. I make money. You always told me to make mo dan you and I have. I make more than you every night than you do every week. I mean (stops when her mother cuts her off)
ANITA: You will not speak to me like that all. Especially in my place of work. I can't believe you call yousell a professional. And you know what missy I can talk all snazzy like you too. (changes her voice) You call being a whore a pro job cuz i think not, girlfriend (snaps her fingers) (goes back to her own voice)I will let you know that I will not accepect my daughter calling herself a professional slut. It makes you look bad an me.
(MYA opens her mouth 2 say something but the dinging of the door stops her)
