A big day for the Sandusky family: little Bjorn Wilhem from Finland is coming later today, and the family is overjoyed.
This will be their sixtieth child that the Sanduskys have taken in as their own.

Dear Journal~
This won't be long; we'll be leaving for the airport in an hour to pick up our newest addtion, Bjorn Wilhem, who is coming today. He has been cleared by his doctors in Finland to come to the States; he is on his way!! :)
We will soon have sixty children in our ever-growing family.
We couldn't be more excited. This is a day we have been waiting for, but it's happened sooner than we expected. We didn't think we'd get him until next month, in May. It's only late April.
We will welcome our new son with open arms. Of course, he'll be scared, no doubt--strangers, a new language he isn't familiar with, not knowing where he is at--, but we will do our best to comfort him, quell his fears; best of all, give him lots of love.
We will have to work extra hard because Bjorn is blind and deaf. Not to worry: I know sign language; I can conmmunicate with him, teach him signs for basic needs, teach him signing in English. I can sign in his hands, so he will know what I am saying, this is probably how he communicates. Since he can't see with his eyes, or hear, he must "see" with his hands, and "see" what people are trying to say to him.
Bill is out of the hospital; he is sore, and is wearing a back brace; as long as he doesn't move wrong (or sneeze or cough), he'll be okay. He is just taking it slow, which he should do, and the older kids, my parents, and myself are trying to help him by taking care of the extra chores. It's a struggle, but we are managing.
The kids are home from school because of the impending arrival of little Bjorn into the family. The teachers understand this, and they'll return back to school on Monday. They understand that the kids want to get to know their little brother and herald his arrival at the airport.
I am sure we'll get plenty of shocked stares at the airport; it's nothing new. *grins* I know we'll probably make a lot of noise. (We are a noisy bunch; get us all together, and you can hear us all over the room! LOL)
Well, we are going to go now; go to Arby's, get our food to go. Then it's off to the races. (Not really, but to the airport.) I will write in here in a few days to tell you about Bjorn's arrival into our International Family; stay tuned!

P.S.: Audrey Callaway, her husband, Rick, and the children are moving to Nashville! We just found out about it yesterday, and we couldn't be more happy for them! Hopefully Tennessee will be much kinder to them! We welcome the Callaways with open arms! :)

In the most adorable way, this reminds me of 101 Dalmatians... it's the energy, the cuteness, the "dog-with-two-tails"-ness about it... and, although just one biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig happy family, it makes me think about how each special member is unique with his/her own "spots". I hope you get my drift here... but mostly I just love the pure zest for life and rumbustiousness of this organised yet chaotic family! Bill will soon be back in the hospital for a bit of a rest!
