One night I was working at Peidmont hospital in Atlanta. As was customary, when a patient had a new order, the secretary would call down to the department, give the floor, the patients name and the order to be filled.
IE: oxygen per nasal cannula at 3-4 liters per minute, or flow rate.
This night the ward secretary from fourth floor, called, identified herself, the patient, room number, and ordered oxygen via nasal cannula but failed to mention in the flow rate. when I asked her what flow she wanted that oxygen on, she replied, somewhat agitated, "I done told you...Foff flo."

How easily even words of the same accent are misunderstood by the ears of another. I could hear this one. Lady J
I rmember those nasal cannulsa; had one when I was in hospital, not fun! LOL It was better than that stupid. nose. hose! GAD! THAT was the WORST! I was never so glad to get rid of it!! :)
