This is about how it all began for me on my journey to self-publishing.
It's quite funny how I came to self-publish my first book. Never before had I considered it. Writing for me was something I loved to do in the privacy of my home. Not something that I would actually put out there for the world to read. The first thought of self-publishing my own book occurred to me while at my local gym. I had dropped my car off to have a cd player installed. While waiting in the lobby of the gym I picked up a local magazine that highlights high school seniors. In it one article caught my eye. A young man who wrote poetry was encouraged by his english teacher to self-publish his poems. He shopped around and found a local publishing company that offered what he was looking for. He and his mom saved up the money and had his book of poems published into his very own hardback book. It was then I thought, "Well if this high school kid can do it, so can I." And from that moment on I proceeded forward in my efforts to self-publish my own book of poetry. It was a long process but it was well worth the effort and here I am!
Don't let anything deter you from what you truly want to do with your life. I made the decision that I wanted to self-publish my own book and that's what I did from start to finish.
