Louisiana writes in her journal, trying to make sense of things going on in her life.

Monday, October 22, 2007, 6:15 a.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Louie here. Sorry if I haven't written in a little while; things here have been crazy at best.

Bill and I have been sniping at one another; I guess it's because I am angry, angry at the world, angry at myself for not being a better wife and mother. I am stuck here in bed.  I'm tired of being confined. Doctor's orders; I am to stay in bed until the babies arrive; the only times I can get up is to use the bathroom or to go to the doctor's.

When I do get up, I have to use a wheelchair; doctor still doesn't want me walking for fear of my falling; she doesn't want any harm to come to the babies. I honestly don't blame her; yet at the same time, I miss being a wife, a mother. I feel like I'm in prison!!  It's starting to affect my moods a little.

I'm mad at Bill because he gets to carry on a normal life (or as normal as possible for him) while I am relegated to the bed. I feel like a beached whale--no, I look like a beached whale: I'm so fat, it's starting to affect how I breathe; doesn't take much for me to get out of breath.

I can't wait until Ian and Isaac arrive! You never know what you have until you don't have it; right now my goal is to get these kids OUTTA' here, out of my belly!! (Still have two months to go yet--*groan*!!)

Don't know if I can take too much more of this....(Sigh!)

The only time I see the kids is if they come into the bedroom, they are as anxious about the babies' arrival as I am; they are getting impatient as well. They try to help me in any way they can; they say they miss the old me--the "old me" that wasn't pregnant with twins; they miss me being a mama to them.

My dog is even anxious: she looks at me, a look of tenderness, worry, and concern on her little face, and she whines pitiously. She can't wait until the babies are born either. She knows something big is coming, and it has her worried.

The weather is due to take a nosedive: colder temps on way, along with blustery conditions. Fall has definitely arrived! We may get some rain later today or tonight, some of which could be heavy. I guess the kids won't be sleeping too much tonight; they'll be dragging come tomorrow morning, when they get up for school!

I heard from Louisa Mason; she's got problems, serious problems. I am worried for her and her family. I will have to write to her when I can get around to it.

Heard from Kendra, too; she's pregnant again. Three months along. It's something of a miracle because doctors didn't think she'd ever be able to have chidren because of her having spina bifida; now she's had triplets (last year), and now she's pregnant again! I am happy for her; pretty soon her family will be as large as ours! LOL

We didn't make it to the Grand Ole Opry Birthday Celebration; too many things going on. Speaking of the Opry, Porter Wagoner is in failing health; lung cancer, in serious condition. I will have to lift him up in prayer; pray that God relieves his suffering, and to take him home to glory peacefully. It doesn't look good for him---

Yesterday at church they had "Pastor Appreciation"; our pastors got some gifts and their wives got flowers. We have the best pastors in the world at Christ Community Assembly of God! (I went yesterday, but of course, I had to sit in my wheelchair to do so. It was the first time I'd gotten to go to church in a while; people were glad to see me. I was glad to see them; I was just glad to get OUT of the house and OUT of bed for a while!)

After church, we went out to eat at Golden Corral; had a good meal; it wasn't long before I got sleepy, so I fell asleep while in the bus, on the way home. Bill had to wake me to tell me we were now home. The kids laughed; they thought it was funny.

Upon arriving home, I went straight to bed, where I slept a good chunk of the afternoon; it was seven in the evening when I finally woke up again. Darn! I even missed the football game; wonder if Dallas won; will have to check the paper once it arrives---

I wonder who made it to the World Series--hopefully it was the Cleveland Indians! (I don't much care for the Boston Red Sox!)

Well, I am going to shut this down; go back to sleep. That's about all I can do being bedridden like this! Such an exciting life I lead now--WHEEEE! Take care and God bless!

~Love, your Tennessee friend, Louie May. :)

Poor Louisiana! I have been where she is. I was ordered to bed a month before my son was born. It is not any fun. Big as a house and can't get out of bed. Well written Karen. You do these so well.

I hope you and Bill have been "snipping" at each other, not "sniping." That would be utterly horrid!!!!! Had a good chuckle over that one. --Charlie

Dear Miss Beached Whale,

Try to be nicer to Bill! And Cleveland lost. Ed Matlack owes me five bucks, so I am very happy!
