Rated "G" by the Author.
Frank was born in Ahwaz, Iran and moved to the UK at the age 5, where he started his training in Bedfordshire, after a friend suggested they attend a class together. A friend who would later lose his life in a car crash. This class had an immediate impact and he has been training ever since for over 25 years across three continents
A traditional martial artist, he was awarded his Black belt after three and half years of training, 3 times a week. Teaching in sports centres throughout the UK, Middle East and Europe.
Affiliated to the JKA (Japanese Karate Association) and Chief Instructor of his own association coaching students. (ACTIKARATE)
Frank has been very fortunate to have been examined by some of the finest British, Japanese and Iranian instructors in the world learning and absorbing delivery styles in the process. Which he extends in his teaching, keeping closely to the spirit of the traditional aspects of the art.
In 1992 he travelled to Florida, USA where he underwent training as a pilot and flight Instructor for 2 years, and after successfully completing this returned to the UK for a short while before travelling to the Middle-East to train at universities, corporate, and military organisations. Improving his ratings on more complex aircraft.
Receiving an award from the air force for his attitude towards training was testimony to his style, and meeting the President of the country from whom he received his invitation in the first place, one of the highlights. He has provided training and coaching to thousands of staff in the corporate sector.
His anecdotes and real life examples help him get a “buy in” from people in a way that is both motivational and exciting, holding no punches!
“This is the second book in a series focusing on “Defending Against Attack.” The first primarily concentrated on attacks against women, while this book will be teaching Shōtōkan Karate to the beginner who not only wants to learn Karate but also wants to understand “Attack Psychology”.
This means taking karate and interpreting every technique into useable movements with the attacker in mind, by providing a definition of the various forms that they take.
Also rather than expect students to learn Karate for merely an achievement of a rank. I would like to run a theme of self defence throughout this book looking at Body language, Trauma, Stress and Fatigue.
After all the attacker and victim share a lot in common, one has lost their boundaries and the other does not know how to defend it!
My intention is to provide a definitive guide to modern attack whether it occurs in schools, on a bus, or on the street, and to help empower students to both progress in rank and learn useable Self Defence in the process! I hope you enjoy it!”

"HOMEGROWN: The Making of the 1972-73 Providence College Friars" is a retrospective of that remarkable season as well as a history of the school's basketball program, which was responsible for drawing the local talent that propelled that team to succ
