Wrapped in cotton balls of dreams, it seems, though not all is light and fluffy, my weary feet, heavy, as ballast on a crane
truck through drifts of snow, pant legs tightly packed inside giant’s boots, forward stomp, deep into white crevasses, every step a mile, every mile a century, forward the mind races, but the body is left behind, the time coated with molasses, through a curtain of white lace, I see a distant reach, a bent in the road, maybe, nothing but white in front of me, and all around me, all the little creatures are hiding, are they? I see beauty all around, but it’s a harsh reality, it captures the unprepared and weary, it’s essence cuts across my face, without leaving scars, it covers my being inside and out, in white cold beauty, I become one with the landscape, only my movement, a jarred image tearing the perception of tranquility, and here and there a brave little friend reaches for my hand to warm it’s body, to take a morsel and warm its soul, while warming mine!

I love the snow and this work is marvellous. captures the feeling very weel.
Very enjoyable write, Jasmin, with images that come clearly to mind. As someone who has had much experience with both snow, mountains, and intense cold, I can relate to this quite readily. Bravo for an evocative fragment of experiential thought.

Bravo to both souls! And I know what you mean; we were graced with 12 inches of pure white yesterday, and today, I am exhausted from moving it from one place to another place; but it's still here - everywhere! And the birdies were really hungry yesterday.
And that little squirrel that appears every morning at breakfast to get a slice of bread and some nuts, silently eating on the wide windowsill, looking with approval once or twice in our direction, and then, like any other morning of winter, contently go retracing its foot tracks on the snow. Two souls warmed.
