We are delighted in the continued positiveness of Korina Grace's situation.
Korina has now been with us for almost four months; she continues to blossom like a flower of spring, much to our joy. She's learning new English words every day, and her therapy sessions continue to go without incident (for the most part).
Korina is walking very well on her crutches; in fact, you can't keep her still for a minute; she's enough to wear out even the most seasoned of babysitters! LOL
Korina is still seeing her dentist every month, to make sure that her gums are healing from the recent treatments; good news there, too: no new cavities; seems that the flouride treatments have done the job. No permanent damage to her adult teeth when they come in, much to our relief.
She's also seeing her pediatrician, who monitors her spina bifida, her other health issues; other than the usual childhood bumps/bruises, she's doing phenominally well for all that she's had to endure lately.
Kaylie, Kensington, and Kristmas (her other siblings) are fiercely protective of their little sister. Even though she is disabled, they don't see her imperfections: all they see is a happy, giggling little girl with a stubborn streak, and they would do anything to ensure her happiness, her well-being. To see the care, the nurturing, the love they shower on her is nothing short of miraculous. They have been wonderful with her; we couldn't be more glad!
People have become enamored with this little Asian beauty with the slanted eyes, thick, shoulder-length jet-black hair, and round, moon face; they think she's a wonderful addition to our family, which she is. It's getting to the point to where we cannot imagine our family without her, she's made that much of an impact!
We have become so infatuated with our daughter that we've been talking about adding to the family: yes, that's right--we may be adopting again in the near future--maybe a little brother for the kids. Doesn't matter if he's disabled or healthy, or if he's from Africa, Vietnam, or India, or even Russia: if there's a little boy in need of love/family, we will be more than happy to take him in, to raise him as our very own, as we have done with little Korina from Vietnam.
Our motto is: "The more, the merrier". We have four kids now--what's one more??
I will continue to keep you periodically updated about our family, particularly Korina. Right now things couldn't look any better for her!
God has indeed blessed us with a little miracle!
