Just wanted to let you know that Nashi, my daughter, is out of the hospital. She got out three days ago. We are thrilled to have her back; we thought for a minute there that we were going to lose her.
Unfortunately, due to her latest illness, Nashi's very weak. She will have to have home health come out to help her with her daily living skills, her personal needs, until she is stronger. She is now on supplimental oxygen for the time being; we are learning how to use the oxygen equipment. It is very scary, not to mention, daunting.
Hyman, her brother, has been quieter than usual; I guess he knows just how sick his sister really was, so he's been trying hard to behave. We are very proud of him; he's being a good little boy.
Tovah, her daddy, couldn't have asked for a better Father's Day present: to have his baby girl back home from the hospital, whole and (reasonably) healthy again. It's a blessing; we must learn to appreciate the good days that our daughter has. She hasn't had too many of them lately.
Yesterday, while the nurses stayed with Nashi, Hy and myself took daddy Tovah out to eat. We went to the Golden Corral; had a great, home-cooked meal. We stuffed ourselves until we felt like fat pillows. Probably looked like fat pillows, too, the way we ate! LOL
It was good to get away from Nashi's health problems, even if it was only for a little while; we could act like a normal family again. These are the times I cherish most.
I got some gift certificates to Lowe's and Eddie Bauer's for Tovah, so he can get what he wants. The kids got him a tie and a tee-shirt that read, "My daddy is better than your daddy"; he loved it. He cried.
After we got back from Golden Corral, we just laid around like fat, lazy slugs, enjoyed each other's company. The weather was hot, so Hyman went swimming, as did Tovah, while Nashi and myself watched. Nashi enjoyed the feel of the warmth of the sun on her skin; she was very content. It was good to see her smiling again; we've missed that when she was in the hospital!
