Flushed Away II
(A very short story)
There once was a lovely little princess named Patience who lived in a somewhat corrupt tiny community called Mad Beach in the land of the Newly Wed and Nearly Dead.
One day a vindictive, giant old balding sewer rat named, Queen Mean, flushed the pretty Princess Patience down the toilet. On her spiral downward she meets a handsome worldly rat named, Reggie Rocks, who becomes her guiding light.
Princess Patience was now faced with learning how to survive in the dangerous wasteland with a treacherous host of other rats and followers of Queen Mean who are bent on destroying, by any means possible, the kind Princess Patience.
The cast is a bit under-whelming but they play their parts to the hilt, like the controlling, subversive, whining, can-do-no-wrong, masculine looking Priestess Buffolina with her spiked hair, tattoos, and many body piercings; a rather dull, uneducated, mouthy British rat named Evileen; a scrawny little abusive drunken sewer slug named Liverpool; a wannabe lover rat who looks somewhat like Shrek and tries to sing Elvis songs while attempting to dance to impress the boys and is named Spankme Hardanslo. To round out the cast there is a couple of other rats posing as singers named Jose and Faustina and a host of their mooch tag along wannabe singing rat friends who are dwellers in this land of moles, slugs, frogs, lizards and other itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie, poop eaters.
However, Reggie Rocks, who grew up on the docks and underneath the streets of Boston and knew the ways of the sewer rats and other vermin, shows Princess Patience the way through and out of the darkness.
As Patience reaches a point where she can finally see the light again her landlord, Iva Bin Horni Foryou shows up with demands for more rent money. However, for one date with Patience he might consider putting off the rent increase for a few months. Iva Bin Horni Foryou is not of his full mind as he has been on dialysis for three years. A once “fairly” honest rat, he has fallen into a deteriorated state of mental awareness because his dialysis machine has been hooked up backwards for the last two years.
Of course, Patience rejects all of Foryou’s advances and triggers the landlord’s wrath. His attorney, Uben Hadbutgood, pursues Patience with a barrage of legal wrangling and unethical legal practices. Hadbutgood is thwarted in all his wrangling because once again Reggie Rocks rides to the rescue and puts a stop to all the nonsense.
In the end Patience and Reggie Rocks ride away into the sunset in a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee, to live happily ever after…far away from the sewers of Mad Beach, leaving the sewer dwellers to find their next target to harass, malign, and blame for their self imposed exiles to the wastelands beneath Mad Beach.
This is a poignant, compelling story of betrayal, corruption, and subversion with many twists and turns.
