Dear Journal~
Kat here. Thought I'd write in here while the gettin's good.
Frank (the poor dear) is still in bed, asleep. He woke up with a very bad migraine headache; he is feeling poorly. He called in to work today, it's that bad.
I will let him sleep while he can; it's good for him when he's sick.
When my hubby's sick, it seems my world stops. I need him to help me with things, and when he can't, I'm, more or less, stuck. It's a pain, but I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world; I love him too much!
Our kitty and puppy are on the bed with their stricken master, keeping his feet warm, or his side. The dog's laying across his feet; the cat, meanwhile, is stretched out against his side. They both look absolutely adoRAble!
It thundered earlier this morning, one of the rare times we get weather like this here. Thunder is a rare event here in Alaska; when it storms, people are often taken off guard. I know I am: I absolutely loathe storms; ever since Katrina three years ago, everytime it "comes up a cloud", I'm freakin' out!!
Now it's partly cloudy out, with temps in the fifties, really delightful out. A little cool, perhaps, but after living in the oven called Louisiana for most of my life, Alaska's cool weather is something I can never get tired of! (It's when it gets COLD when I squeak!! LOL)
Last night, a neighbor got shot while hunting. It was an unfortunate accident. His friend mistook him for an animal, so he shot his buddy. Shot him right in the arse. He's now in the hospital, getting bullet fragments removed from his buttocks. It could have been a lot worse than it was, but now I think of it, and I can't help but laugh. It's too funny to imagine! LOL
It won't be long before the leaves start changing here. They start changing around the middle to end of the month; by the mid part of September, they're at their peak, or nearing it. Alaska has some spectacular fall vistas; the colors here are absolutely breathtaking! I will be taking pictures (and hopefully posting them here, or on a place like YouTube). Then you can see my handiwork with a camera; Frank says I'm turning into the skilled little photographer! :)
We have been on the computer a lot: if not researching when the next aurora storm is, we look up information on all sorts of things: health, weather, people, animal care, you name it. We go online to catch up with the news of the day and to answer e-mails that continue to navigate their way into our in-box (and argue with the stupid spam, which drives the both of us crazy!!). Or we go to Authorsden or YouTube. Or maybe HardCore Weather, which is a site for weather buffs.
AT least I do. Frank's doing his bills or his business from work; he doesn't have time for places like AD, HCW, or YouTube. :)
He calls sites like that a waste of time. LOL
Well, I am going to go back to bed; nothing to do today, but relax. I took the day off, so I can take care of my baby. I will write in here again soon; take care, and may God bless you!
