As per Fee and Bonnie's request, I changed the font color. Was hard for them to see; so I made it darker. Hope it's much easier on the ol' peepers! Enjoy! :)
Mattaq is happy to know that sister Sikik is out of the hospital, but she is now in a nursing home, where she will continue to get skilled nursing care until she is stronger.

Dear Journal~
Mattaq Eegeesiak here. Sorry for not writing; have been busy these past few days. I hope you understand.
I am happy to say that Sikik, my sister, is out of the hospital! She is doing much better; however, she is now in a nursing home, as she still needs skilled nursing care until she gets stronger.
I am not really happy about Sikik being in a nursing home; however this is the facility that's closest to where I am staying, so this was the best choice. It is only temporary; I will have to keep reminding myself about this each time I go to see her. I know she's not happy with being with all the older people; I am not either, but right now it's all we have.
I am trying to think positive. The nurses and doctors there at the nursing home can keep an eye on not only Sikik, but the other residents there; that way, if a problem develops, they can rush her (or any of the other residents) to needed medical care. They know what they are doing, what's best.
I have alerted family and friends about Sikik; they will continue to lift her (and I) up in prayer, which I appreciate. It is nice to know that people care in my time of need!
I am most fortunate to have friends like Louisiana Sandusky and her beautiful family, Jenna Aurora and Michael Doucet, Tacket Archibald Barker, Emmett Johnson, and Carole Tualkuq; they've been praying for me constantly since Sikik's health took bad.
Well, it's early in the morning (not even five thirty here); still dark. I will write later on at a more feasible hour; I need to get all the rest I can if I want to keep going back and forth to see Sikik! All of this running around like this is not good for me!! If I am not careful, I'm the one who is going to end up needing medical care!!
Interesting journal. Nursing homes are the last resort of course and some are hellholes, while others are almost as pleasant as a hotel. I hate to see people separated from their homes but sometimes there is just no other way. Thatnks for the insights.
Karen thank you for sharing its good to know that Sikkik is out of the hospital
In Christs Love
Michelle~

Thank you for the heartfelt write. I enjoy reading your stories as they humble me. We seem busy and hurried and forgetful of those locked in nursing facilities. They have many stories to tell..but no one to tell them to.

Whoops, almost missed this one, Karen, sorry about that! So glad Sikik is on the mend, but sorry to hear she's in a home - hard to find a good one, with caring, compassionate staff - hopefully, she's in such a place. Well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I have a friend whose mother is in a nursing home. My friends siblings are constantly bickering with her about bringing their mother home. Now, my friend is the only one that works but her siblings, who do not work, want my friend to quit her job and stay at home with mom.
It's good to read about family members that are their for each other when they are truly needed.
This is so sad for it hit my heart for I too had to put my father in a nursing home. I would have brought him here in Colorado but PA was too far away and they said he'd never make the trip. I wish with all my heart I would have anyway. For his experience and mine was a horror. God bless them and hope their experience is a loving and healing one. LOve, Bonnie
