Bill writes in his journal upon getting home from work.

Weds., October 8, 2008, Nashville, TN, 3:43 p.m., D.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Just got home from work not even fifteen minutes ago, and already the kids are driving me crazy with their noise and messes.  Instead of hanging up their clothes or book bags from school on the hooks on their bedroom doors (or in the closet), they leave them on the floor for me to trip over.  I am going to have to get after them before somebody falls and/or gets hurt!

They ought to know better than that!!

Bill here.  Had a pretty busy day at Wally-World; nabbed yet another potential shoplifter:  a young girl no older than fifteen, who was caught with makeup in her purse, as well as some earrings, a bottle of perfume, and some rings.  She's now on the way to the police department where she will probably be charged with theft or criminal mischief.

Caught her running out the door, and she would have gotten away too had the security alarms not gone off, plus she dropped her purse, spilling some of the contents.  That's when we found the perfume, rings, and earrings.  Needless to say, I got the manager over, and he dealt with her while inside I stewed at her stupidness.

It put a damper on my day.  Don't people ever learn??  It's no wonder everything keeps going up in price!!

Louie could tell I was angry when I came sauntering in.  She made me feel a little better by offering me a cup of coffee, a loving kiss on the lips, and tender words of encouragement.

I just wish I could go to work one day without dealing with shoplifters or worse, people who come in stoned or high on something!  Sometimes ugly fights have broken out, and suddenly everyone's runnin' for cover, to get away from the melee'!

Seems that this behavior is only going to get worse as the holiday season approaches.  Somehow, Christmas and Thanksgiving, supposedly joyous times of the year, brings out the worst in people!  It happens every year, and every year it only seems to escalate!

This is when they need to cut out the commericalism crapola and focus on the REAL reason for the Season:  the Birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!!

I figured I'd come home to a quiet house.  As usual, I was wrong.  The children were wound up (probably from all the fizzy drinks and candies they consumed during recess or at mealtime), and then they had the nerve to drop their possessions on the floor for me to try to fall over.  Oh, I was so angry I wanted to pull their heads off!  They know I don't get around well, plus there are others who have mobility problems; seems like it's always the able-bodied ones who do the worst of the offenses!

The weather was pretty stormy last night, thanks to a cold front.  We had some very heavy rains, large hail (quarter size), winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, and frequent lightning/thunder.  The storm sirens went off; we spent a good part of yesterday evening in our safe room.  It was not fun, especially since Johnathon kept wanting to go up to watch the action in the skies!

And Ronee' was in the corner, quivering in fear and whimpering, "Make it staaaaaaaawp!"  (She hates storms with a purple passion!)

The other kids weren't too thrilled with the storm either; they were wondering if a tornado was going to come and pick the house up, carry us to Oz.  Thank God we're still here in Nashville, Tennessee, with no Munchkins looking quizzically at us, wondering who on earth we were and where we came from!  LOL

And our little storm-phobic Pomeranian piddled on the floor in fear when a particularly loud boom of thunder went off, scaring us nearly into heart attack mode.  She doesn't do storms very well either!  LOL

Well, I am going to go now.  Louie wants me to help with some of the tube feedings and med dispensions once the kids have eaten their supper.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Bill saying so long for now!

~Love, your friend, Bill. :D

A very trying day for Bill. I noticed that he has a mobility problem as I do myself somedays. People don't realize that what they can simply walk over we have to find a way to go around. A very well written work Karen.

Shplifting, the youngs today don't seem concerned, "it just one of these things"...a shrug of the shoulders and a "it will never happen to me" Please Bill don't upset your self by standing in the way of the avalanche, because they will never learn, those that think they are smarter than the rest of us.
