Sari writes in her journal prior to going to her scheduled doctor's appointment (this time with her pain management doctor).

Monday, 13 October, 2008, Ivalo, Finland~

Dear Journal~

Terve!  Miita kuuluu?  Kiitos hyvaa!

Sari Annike here.  Thought I'd write in here before I leave for my doctor's appointment; have an appointment to see my pain management doctor, Dr. Aatisaari.  See him in less than two hours; see if he can give me something for my fibromyalgia; it's really been bothering me lately.

Thought it was because of handling the kids; even when not busy or moving, I hurt.  Terribly.  Feels like someone's been using my body as a punching bag; the pain has been incredibly severe, enough to take my breath away at times.

Nik has been patient with me; however, I haven't been the same with him.  If anything, I have been a b****.  I have not been very nice at him:  I have been snapping at him, yelling at Birtta and Erick when all they need is my loving support.  I hurt all the time, and I take it out on them, when I don't mean to.

At times I get so overwhelmed by the pain, all I can do is cry.  It doesn't help I'm pregnant; if anything, that's only heightened my emotions.  It seems I cry, get mad at the least little thing; it's terrible!!

If any of you could just keep me in your thoughts/prayers, I'd really appreciate it; this isn't like me.  I am usually not this grouchy; I'm really a very nice, easygoing person!  It's just this fibro and being pregnant that has me all messed up!!

Which is why I am going to see Dr. Aatasaari, to see if he can help me.  Oh, I pray he can; I don't think I can stand too much more of myself for too much longer!!

Well, I am going to go; have to get ready, then go.  While Nik and I are at Dr. Aatasaari's, my brother will watch over the children, if for a few hours; but it will give us both a much needed break.  I will write in here again soon; hopefully I'll get a good report.  Take care and may God bless you!

Until later, this is Sari saying Nakemiin!

~Love, your friend in Finland, Sari Annike. :(

Those who don't know cannot say what someone with Fibromyalgia is feeling: trust me, I know all too well. Some days it's all I can do to get out of bed ... an excellent story, well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Fibromyalgia, was trated by the medical establishment as a "feminine hysteria syndrome" until men started to get it and the pipe got another tone.
That kind of muscular atrophy by pain is considered non curable, just able to be softened by drugs.
But hysteria is not.
