Dear Journal~

Louisiana here.  Thought I'd write in here while I am on break at work.

Slow day today.  Only have one patient, an elderly man with Crohn's disease.  He's in here because of severe stomach pains; he came in last night, looking pretty miserable.  He's now resting in bed, receiving painkillers via IV; it seems to be helping; he looks more relaxed, isn't nearly as peaked as he was when he arrived.

I am taking my break early; all my nursing staff is here for the day shift; they can handle things while I take a half-hour cafeteria break; then I work until noon, when I have my hour-long lunch break, which is always a highlight of the day.  I then work until two, where I rush home to meet the first buses of the day from school as they bring the children home.  The first buses arrive at 3:15, which gives me time to collect myself, even if only for an hour.

The only ones home are the four youngest:  Isaiah, Ian, Emir, and Arjun.  Four extremely active, inquisitive little boys.  *Siggghhhh*

Last night, poor Enriquesa was in tears.  She had to get her assignment done for today, a book report about Tom Sawyer.  It counted for half of her grade; she worked all night on it; she didn't get to bed until 11:30.  I hope she gets a good grade for all the hard work she put into it!

Ronee' was having a dilemma of her own:  what to wear today.  She finally decided on black stirrup pants, a grey oversized sweatshirt with a pair of wolves on the front, and her dangly snowflake earrings.  So that's what she wore to school today.  I am sure she looked very pretty today as the bus  came to pick her up.  I'm only sorry I didn't see her this morning, as I was out the door by five fifteen, before the traffic jams started.

Johnathon has a doctor's appointment at 11 this morning at the MD clinic.  Hopefully Dr. Ramjet will give him a good report; it seems he's been doing pretty well for himself at this time:  no new puzzling, alarming symptoms; it's as if his MD is in a holding pattern.  Let's hope this continues; he's already been through so much now with his health as it is!

Because of Johnathon's appointment, Bill's off work today.  So he's kidsitting.  After his appointment, Bill will take Johnny to school (but not before taking him out for a bite to eat first).  Johnny has a short day today at school.

We watched the debate last night; I only hope McCain got his point across.  Somehow Obama doesn't seem trustworthy; I see it in his face, his eyes.  I look at him, and I can't help but get chills or goosebumps!  I just don't trust him; something about him scares me!

I am definitely voting, as is Bill and my kids who are of voting age.  I only hope we pick the right one, the one we feel is more worthy to be called President!

And I'm praying that Obama doesn't get the job!  I fear for our country's future if he gets in!!

Well, I am going to go now.  I am being paged to the E.R.  Haven't been there in a while.  Hope it's nothing serious.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Louie saying so long and God bless!
