A beautiful child, decides that having her own will make life better...She is 15 years old.

Oh little girl, how did I fail you

Gentle, little flower, when you were born

it was my wish to never leave you all alone

To hug you, love you, and save you from harm

There was nothing that I wouldn't give to you

Dancing lessons, pretty clothes, even painted your toes

You always told me of your dreams, to be a model or

photographer, maybe even take care of me when I got old

Your smile was like the sunlight, and the dimple on your cheek

matched mine, and I loved to hear you speak

It was said so many times, as long as you live little girl,

a part of me will never die....so please just tell me why

I know they were my dreams for you, but I only wanted good

For you to have a better life, to know that you could be

anything you set your mind to be....Oh little girl my love

To see your golden curls that flowed down your back

cut to your ears, and sharply colored black

It was a phase I knew, and soon you would be you

Sweetly you always spoke, with that same gentle tone

Each year I ached for you to come and spend some time

with me... to travel, shop and let me see who you would be

The words that came from your mouth, were foriegn and unkind

not the child I knew and always loved more than I loved me

When I spoke with you, and asked you to share what was in your

heart...you smiled, you spoke, and then you lied to me...

It was plain to my heart that you had grown away

and didn't share the love that I had always hoped us to be

I watched you walk, I glowed with pride, and even watched you

sleep... My beautiful little girl, How did I fail you

The words came to me through others and I cried

Because I know you've made a choice that I pray will set you free

From the pain and loneliness that you must feel inside

That led you to believe that having your own child

would be the answer to the wrongs that have filled your life

My heart is heavy with your pain, and I understand you do this

without any shame..... it was your plan....and tall you stand

Yet, I will never understand - my precious little girl

I pray that life that lives within you, will know just why you

chose to place your own on hold...  Now I sit here all alone

waiting for you to let me know...I want to hear it from your voice

My precious little child.... You've always been the center of my life,

you knew that all along.  They say the birth is near, and yet

you cannot tell me... How my child, did I fail you...

Hi Linda,

All our children grow up, and make decisions good and bad for themselves. You love your child which sadly, is love that many children never experience. I have read enough about you to truly believe that you are certainly no failure.... just a warm, sincere mother that cares.

Linda we do what we can for them and one day they decide they want to do things their own way without our help. We have to set them free to leap into their own world, each day becomes harder to turn back time, when she is ready she will call on you. It is okay for you to reach out to her, you are not capable of failing her dear.

I don't think you have failed her. There are many reasons why a young girl would want a baby. Perhaps for security reasons that she wants something that she can call her own, something that belongs to her.

This says it all, both the joy and the agony of being a parent for their comes a time when we are no longer capable of protecting them no matter how strong our love is, they must fly and yes sometimed some crash to the ground...

Once again ou touched my heart. You didn't fail her not you. When she has a child, she will see through wiser eyes and heart. Sometime it takes being a mother to understand and love one. Call it growing up. Beautiful painful write. Love, Bonnie

I think it's like some sort of security to fall back on when she feels like she had nothing; or nobody. This security is for her to own, it belongs to her.
