I have decided that Karen belongs home with us. It's the best option.
When she was in the hospital, I was so miserable, and so were the children; however, I got tired of her not taking care of herself, so I had her admitted.
Now she's back home, where she belongs, but she has to see a psychiatrist a couple times a week, and she has to be on her medication. She takes it twice a day, faithfully, and so far, it's seemed to do the trick.
Karen's able to function now; she doesn't suffer from the wild mood swings anymore, and the atmosphere around our house is a lot more pleasant.
This is Ryan, by the way. Ryan Lance. I've written before about my wife's struggles with bi-polar disorder and how it threatened to wreck our happy home; now she finally seems to have a grip on things. Karen is able to be a wife, a mother, a human being.
It is very encouraging to see.
Maybe down the road I will write more about my family; or maybe even Karen will do so, too. We have a most wonderful family: two gorgeous children, ages 10 and five (Felicia Michelle and Parker Joseph, aka PJ). We also have a fat, furry Ragdoll cat named "Sam".
Maybe now that my wife is finally getting a handle on her illness, I can return to working full time. It's been financially tough on us the last several months since Karen's mental health took a downward spiral, but maybe now that she's getting the help she needs, I can return to my former life.
And we won't have to struggle so hard to keep up with the bills or the demands of our kids.
I feel that this year will be the best year for our family, even though the economy's the schi**. With God's help, and the fact that my wife is returning to health, we can only hope!
May God bless you always, and thank you for listening to my story. Now the Grinch is no more; I've got my wife (and my life) back! I can find reason to smile again!
I will write soon; so take care! You haven't heard the last from me!
~Ryan Lance. :)
