Slobo has just about recovered from his illness; he is frustrated at not being able to work. (He had flesh-eating disease.)

Fah!  I hate this, not being able to work!

Slobo here.  Slobo Trbanek.  I no longer in hospital; I now at home, recovering from sickness.  Sickness real bad; it nearly kill me.  Still don't feel like myself now; gonna take long time to get over this.

Doctor say I no can work until I stronger, better.  Til then, my mama, she take care of me, also my neighbor, who like second mama.  I still have pain in my hip, from where they operate on me.  Infection eat up my skin, this why I need operation on it, to take bad skin off, or else I could have died.

What I have very rare.  It called flesh eating disease (necrotizing fasciitis; look up spelling; that medical name for what I have).  It very nasty; not many people live through it.  I one of the lucky ones.

Don't know if I'm that lucky:  I still hurt plenty bad, sometimes pain make me sick to my stomach, can't eat, keep anything down.  On those days, I sleep, hope sick feeling go away.

My boss, he come by to see me; he sorry to hear I be sick; but glad I back home.  He says customers miss me.  I miss customers, too, and I also miss my working partners!  He bring me stuff (puzzle-books) to try to help me pass time while I get better from my sickness.

Christmas very bad this past year.  No money for gift; all we have is each other, my mama and me.  Church come by, help out, bring us food, gifts, even money.  That was nice, but I no like asking for help; I'd always been able to care for me, my mama.  Now I need help; I no used to it!

This year, things not much better.  Country is in bad way; people losing jobs, homes, food prices going up, gas more expensive.  Glad I don't have car; I rather take wheelchair everywhere, which I usually do!

We have new president, not sure if I like him yet.  He seem too cocky, don't like people who think they hot stuff.  Maybe he will end up doing better job in future, but for now, not so sure.

I miss old president; he cared for people more!

Winter here very cold, like back home, Bosnia.  I sit in chair, by fireplace, wrapped up in blanket, still cold.  Make my body hurt.  Maybe I have the arthritis in joints; seems pain never go away!  My sore hips don't help, from where I have bad skin taken off!

That hurt worse than a toothache!

Well, I know this not much, but nothing to do, getting sleepy again.  Going to have mama put me to bed, then I can sleep for while.  I will write in here again when I feel better.  Until later, this Slobo saying bye bye for now!

~Slobo Trbanek.  :(

No money for Xmas presents but each other's company. When one can see another Christmas despite a serious illness, one can appreciate why God gave us life.
And many, this winter, the past winter and winters to come will not have a fireplace to sit in front of it and be warmed up.
About the pain, think of three nails and His pain, yours, pale in comparison.
Be well.

Flesh eating disease are sometimes deadly if not found in time; but I'm glad that Slobo is okay.

Slobo seems to be going through a good portion of what America goes through with some things, but I believe he will get through this, thank you for the great story

Ya know, Slobo rather reflects all of us, painful flesh places hurting from being removed, like bad debts with the creditors spiking us with unending calls, and this doubt about our "new messiah" being able to fix things. And like all of us, Slobo is waiting for things to get better.

But there is a difference between us and Slobo. We have the power to help while Slobo only has the vulnerability of waiting for help. We need to review our priorities, get our butts in gear, and start helping instead of waiting for help. Slobo will appreciate that. So will we :-)

Many in Slobo's position: job loss, illness, worries ... powerfully penned sadness, Karen. Hopefully one day soon it will get better. :(
