I am kinda' bummed out today: vacation for me and my twin sister has ended, and today we go back to work. (Karla went to work at 7 this morning and gets off at 1; I go in at 4 and work 'til 8:30.) We both work at the Golden Corral Buffet and Steakhouse. Karla has worked at GC for 4 1/2 years, and I have been there for a little over 2 years.
I had a good vacation; didn't do much except play on the Internet and answer my e-mail, also went out to eat at Good Eats and Razoo's Cajun Restaurant for our birthday (some friends took us; we went to Good Eats on our birthday, and Razoo's the day after), and saw a movie ("Spirit: Legend of the Cimmaron"), which was a G-rated movie (and very enjoyable). The artwork was stunning, and the storyline was good, too. It was about a horse named "Spirit" who wanted to be free, and man kept trying to interfere with the horse's wanting to be free. We also went shopping, and Karla got me a few Christian books including one I had been wanting. (I've already nearly finished it; it is quite good!!) One reason we didn't do much was because we don't have a car, and we didn't have that much in the way of money.
But it is time to put my vacation behind me and go back to work. Still, it was nice to get away from the Spanish-speaking people at work (I don't speak but very little in the way of Spanish as it is, and I feel if they are living here in America, they should be taught to speak English, especially in business situations!!) And the stress I face when it gets nutz there!!! Half the time I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off!!
But it will be kinda' nice to get back to my job and get paid next week (although my coming check will be much smaller; the next one will be back to speed). It's better than nothing, and it is DEFINITELY better than being BROKE!!!! At least I don't have any bills this time to pay....
I also have September 28 to look forward to: I am planning on taking that weekend off, and I am going to see Loretta Lynn in concert here in Texas, at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. (I have seen Loretta Lynn in concert 5 times; it WOULD have been 6 hadn't Loretta got sick before her show last year and was forced to cancel because of it. I was there that night.) The upcoming concert will be my 6th time I have seen her. It would have been 7 had I seen her last year--but didn't.
