An elated Louisiana Sandusky writes in her journal; most of it has to do with her friend, Naomi Cohen, who has been moved out of Intensive Care after suffering a stroke, plus the recent goings on in her family.

Dear Journal~

Louisiana here.  I am doing much better since my last journal entry of over a week ago:  my friend, Naomi Cohen, who suffered a stroke, has been moved out of Intensive Care.  She is now in a regular room at Nashville Memorial.

I visited her yesterday after work and the day before; she really looks good, considering all that she has been through.  I also saw Rebekkah and Micah, her daughter and husband, out in the hall; both look like they are about to fall over.  I feel so bad for them; they've really been through so much since Naomi became ill!

I did see Kendra and Michael a few times, but they didn't stay long:  they have children to tend to.  They look exhausted, too.

I will have to say prayers for all of them; pray that God gets them through the (uncertain) days ahead!

Doctors still say it is too early as to whether Naomi will regain full function of her arm or leg again; however, we are trusting in the Lord to get her through this; it's all we can do.

Other than Naomi recuperating from her stroke, we have been busy practicing for our Easter Cantata at church.  So far, everything is going smoothly; I pray this continues.  The kids are getting their lines/songs memorized, and the adults are, too.  It is going to be a unforgettable Cantata; I feel it in my bones!

The children have been staying healthy; even Johnathon, who was recently in the hospital with CHF (congestive heart failure), is thriving.  I just wish he could put on some needed weight:  he is so skinny; no matter what he eats, he just can't keep it on his bones!

The doctor has discussed the possibility of having a feeding tube implanted in his belly or having a nose hose inserted; however, Johnathon won't hear of it.  I don't blame him:  those NG tubes aren't very comfortable, and he doesn't relish the thought of having a tube placed in his stomach and fed that way; he'd miss the taste of chocolate chip cookies or cake!  That would just devastate him!

Ronee' got into trouble at school yesterday:  she decked a kid after he kept annoying her in science class.  He kept poking her in the back with a pencil.  Ronee' soon had enough, so she slugged him:  popped him a good one in the jaw.  The teacher has placed Ronee' in detention the week after Easter break.  Ronee' is not very happy about it.  (I'm not too happy either.)  I am going to have to teach her that while she had the right to defend herself, violence is not the answer; there are better ways to resolve conflicts!

Great!  My daughter is a juvie!  LOL

Camey had to go to the emergency room the other day:  she had a seizure and she's okay.  She just had to have her medication adjusted.  Hopefully it will do the trick.  This is the first seizure she's had in over two years.  (She doesn't drive.  Her twin sister, Tammi, drives her to work.)

Dwerlina got in a minor car wreck:  she was at a red light in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where she lives (she was on her way to work), and another car ran into her.  She wasn't hurt, thank goodness, but she was shaken up.  The other driver got charged for failure to control his vehicle, plus it turned out that the driver had expired tags and a suspended driver's license.

This happened on Monday, Monday afternoon, to be exact.

Lightning and Darnell are seeing a marriage counselor: it seems that the two of them have been having some marital problems; hopefully the counselling will help.

Bill is not having any problems other than stiff joints; that's normal for him.  He's been working hard at Wal*Mart; he works anywhere from four to five days a week, usually from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. most days.

He will be glad when the Easter rush is overwith; he's getting tired of the commercialism aspect of the holiday.  He's getting sick of seeing chocolate bunnies, yellow or orange peeps, or Easter baskets full of toys or other "goodies" for children.  He wishes people would get back to the crux of the holiday:  the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The weather here is nice; however, this afternoon (and overnight), it's supposed to go downhill.  We may be in for some rough weather, including the possibility of tornadoes, large hail, and damaging downburst winds.  Wondermous.  Just what I did not want to hear!  I have to work tonight, so Bill will be in charge of the troops, getting them to our storm shelter if needed.  I know they will have a long night.  So will I, especially if there are injuries incurred from the storms.

Well, gang, I am going to run along; try to get some sleep while the gettin's good.  Take care, and may God bless you always!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your Tennessee friend, Louie May.  :D

I haven't read Louisiana in a while and thought I'd drop by to say hello. A feeding tube in the belly brought back memories of my mother. In the belly is a lot better place for it than in the nose. Blessings, Karen.
